  1. Avon showed up this weekend big time. Impressive.

  2. Hopefully! Just proud of him regardless what place he gets and Hall was a guy I've always rooted for as well...I knew that they would put on show..I know 99.9999% of the wrestling community would love to accomplish what LoBo has.. And to top it off I know Logan is a young man any parent would be proud to call their own.. Great person that is going places..I wish I would've gotten 1 medal or caught top talent in Spladles when I was wrestling..I wish every guy I root for would go undefeated until the state semis and if they lost ws "a bad day " by critics standards..152 was wide open and had 4 guys that on any given day win it.. This group could wrestle this bracket 4x and there could be 4 different champions..I'll continue to Root 1000% and never shy away from tooting their horns because I know what went into the process..I'd rather guess wrong being loyal than be right out of spite!

  3. Let's put a hold on that Semi-State trophy. New Castle: Cottey, Seltzer, Lowery, Viduya, Allread, Parsons (6) Evansville: Miller, Boarman, Kervin, Dickens, Deters (5) East Chicago: Mendez, Walker, Bates (3) Ft. Wayne: (0)

  4. I'd guess it could happen in the coming years.... We can discuss on the College Board then!

  5. My guy Jaden Reynolds was underanked all year after a slow start. Looked absolutely awesome to end his season. Gave up 4 to start against Viduya but just about got him! I promise he will be coming for his next year! Proud of my guy!!!!

    THE BEST SEATS AT STATE

Saving seats is getting out of hand. Many parents and grandparents just want to see their son wrestle. I ran into a mother last night that was chased from her seats cause she dared try to sit near the mat where her son was going to wrestle and another team’s fans had “reserved” three complete sections on level 2. She was very upset - this is out of control it shouldn’t be like that

  9. I think we should talk about how one of the biggest upsets in Indiana State History almost happened. You could see Koontz smiling on the ground after he got reversed because that was a NASTY headlock. Seemed to only make Mendez mad tho. Props to Koontz for coming to play and congrats to soon to be four-timer Jesse Mendez

  19. Little do many people know... the kid who beat Nico Bolivar in the championship quarter finals... Jesse Mendez beat 21-7 the same day he wrestled Nico. Jesse in my opinion got screwed due to a dumb penalty point. If Jesse and Nico wrestle again I have jesse by major or tech

  21. Wow! So 4 guys on the same day is unreal! Just when it's brought up that less than 1% of SQ ever 4x medal we have 4 studs do it the same night! All 4 also will impact our youth and wrestling as a whole with the evolution our in state guys.. These fellas are tommorows coaches and leaders and i'm blessed to have gotten to witness their careers..

  23. 106 - Easy pick here! #2 Sam Goin vs. #3 Suhas Chundi - Nothing like starting the morning off with a bang. Crown Point needs to get off to a good start for the Team Race. -- Honorable Mention: #4 Isaac Ruble vs. #15 Kyler West - Ruble favored and likely to win. But West is better than anyone outside Southern IN thinks. 113 - Another easy one! #2 Cole Ross vs. #6 Logan Frazier - Huge for the Team Race! Ross lost in the SS Final after leading 7-2. Both lost to Cottey. Frazier to Hooper, who lost Friday night Lane Gilbert, who beat Ross last week. Sounds clear cut doesn't it? If only it worked that way.... -- Hon. Mention - Gilbert vs. Sprague and Sturgill vs. Schoeff could be interesting as well 120 - MD vs. CP Again! - No easy draws at 120 unless your name is Seltzer! #2 Riley Bettich vs. #5 Alec Freeman should be awesome! Will Bettich fall in this round to a Mater Dei wrestler 2 years in a row? Hon. Mention - To me Seltzer, Diaz and Eldred seem to be clear favorites. Can anyone make them sweat? 126 - This was a tough one! #2 Ben Dalton vs. #5 Brayden Lowery. Lowery has three state placements and is the lower ranked wrestler. Both finished 3rd last year with Dalton at 113 and Lowery at 120. Flip a coin! High Hon. Mention - #4 Stephen Roberson vs. #7 Kysen Montgomery - Montgomery won a 2-0 squeaker at the IHPO and Roberson returned the favor early this season 5-1. Expect it to be close and don't cheat yourself and miss it by keeping too close an eye on Dalton/Lowery! This could be big for the Team Race as well. BB needs a win here to contend. A CP win would be big 132 - Another tough one! #3 Hunter Cottingham vs. #6 Hayden Watson - I see Watson as the favorite here and feel he is under-ranked. Warren Central's Aundre Beatty is the common opponent of note here. Watson beat him 2-0 and Cottingham lost 8-4. Expect a close one. Hon. Mention - #4 Kane Egli vs. #5 Ian Heath - I admit I know very little about Heath. My guess is this is a close one and I know Mater Dei needs this one to stay in the Team Race. 138 - Relatively easy pick here! - #2 Logan Bailey vs. #5 Drake Campbell - MD fans here should root for Bailey as Campbell seems to have become Blake Boarman's Kryptonite. I personally think these are 2 of the top 3 in the state. I'm excited to see how this one plays out! Hon Mention - #3 J Conway vs. #4 Logan Wagner - Both had crazy 1st round matches last year and relatively easy ones this year. Conway lost a heartbreaker in TB1 to Chase Wilkerson and Wagner won 15-13 SV-1 over Kane Egli. Conway is really good. I expect it to be a fun one! 145 - #4 William Fiechter vs. #8 Jaden Reynolds - Fiechter had to fight Friday night to squeeze out a 9-8 TB-1 win. Reynolds won like a hot knife through butter. Fiechter is ranked higher, but my gut tells me to look out for Reynolds. Hon Mention - None stand out over the others I'm sure there will be some other great matches too, but these are the matches that stood out to me and some could have a big effect on the Team Race. Will do 152 - 285 if I can stay awake long enough!

First post with bold predictions.... Making sense is secondary and not required. I'd take it with a grain of salt. I'll be shocked if both get 5 to the semifinals. Won't be surprised if neither does.

  31. No. I thought it was a bad call and glad it was overturned. Match went to OT with 1:00 and both wrestlers neutral to decide it. Thought it was a great match.

In the individual category for those arguing in this thread.... Jesse Mendez 23.5 Zeke Seltzer 20.0 And for those looking outside the team race, Silas Allred has a perfect 24.0

  40. The West Vs Ruble match should be a good one. West is coming in hot. Just lost a close one to Miller at SS(2-0). Miller has a close win over Goin who in return had a close win over Ruble.

  42. Exactly! Hell this should be something every wrestler regardless their weight or experience! You can also be ultra competitive but smile and have good sportsmanship doing it..Guys like this are what a coach dreams of.. this is a prime example that if you leave it all out there, there's no loser.. nobody remembers Clark got 4th we only remember the spectacle that he participated in..us fans were too winners for getting to witness it!
