As stated above, I do believe the rule states that all corrections to match scores must be done prior to the start of the next match on that mat. That is an unfortunate way to lose. Official scorer and referee should have been a little better in realizing the situation, as well as the Coach.4 points

Madtownxwrestler and one other reacted to bsisson for a topic
The way that I have always understood it is that you have to questions the score/outcome in this case before your wrestler steps off of the mat. Once your wrestler has stepped off of the mat you can no longer go back and question the scoring of the match.2 points -

Sorry to give everyone homework for today...but the result is going to be really cool. Make sure your team's Twitter handle is updated on their team profile page. To find this, go to the following link and select your team. Then if they don't have a Twitter icon you can add it by pressing edit. Make sure you leave off the @ sign. https://indianamat.com/index.php?/team_listing.html/indiana/ Thanks, Management1 point -
You are wrong, blaming a scorekeeper because they didn't know whether the match continued or not is NOT their job. Their job is to run the clock and make sure the score is correct on the board. They should not be required to read the rule book before operating a score clock.1 point

Most Physical Wrestlers in the State..?
FCFIGHTER170 reacted to Caleb Spires for a topic
Surprised nobody he mentioned Hunter Watts yet. He’s one of the quickest in the state and always on the attack. Not uncommon for him to be leading by 8+ within the first minute of the match. Some others I’ve seen this season or past; Mendez you can’t rest against for a single second or you’ll pay. Rooks can put up a lot of points and is tough to fend off his takedown attempts. Brewer is wonderful at breaking his opponents. Littell has a huge motor and will keep coming at you.1 point -
My Dad is a retired Athletic Director. For tournament events, he paid every worker (except concessions which the Band worked to earn funds). News alert-- If you have volunteered to be a timer or scorekeeper for a Sectional or Regional, your Athletic Director is either clueless or taking advantage of your generosity because YOU SHOULD BE GETTING PAID. The host site is responsible for obtaining competent (adult...see below) scorers, timekeepers, etc & the cost for those tournament expenses is covered by the gate receipts or the IHSAA if there is a deficit. Here are some excerpts from: 2018‐19 Wrestling Tournament Series General Rules: The center school shall provide and be responsible for tickets, ticket takers/sellers, ushers, announcers, scorers, timekeepers, all necessary equipment for conducting the game or contest, necessary facilities for the competing teams and those directly affiliated with the competing teams (such as the principal, athletic director, coaches, student managers, etc.), facilities for spectators/fans and crowd control (hereinafter known as the local arrangements). Officials A. Bench officials, etc. are to be selected by the center principal and tourney director. Only qualified adult help shall be used as official scorekeepers and timers. Financial Terms A. Sectionals and Regionals 1. Tournament expenses such as officials, help, etc. shall be paid by the center school from the gross receipts. IHSAA shall reimburse center school when a deficit occurs.1 point

Regional First Round Match-ups!
backtothemat reacted to base for a topic
Perry Meridian 152 Brice Coleman (Warren Central) on one side of the bracket Sammy Fair (Perry) and Cooper Noehre (Greenfield) on the other side. Unless there is a huge 1st round upset, one of these two is going to be a #3 seed at New Castle next weekend As these wrestlers will likely finish 1/2/3 out of the Warren Regional - it's highly likely that either the 2nd or 3rd place finisher will have Elliott Rodgers from Cathedral in a ticket-round match at New Castle!1 point -

Portage was taken out of the LaPorte Sectional and put into the Calumet. LaPorte held the Regional with CP involved and it was moved after Portage left to CP. Portage has never hosted an individual regional, Team Regional back in the day was hosted by Portage though.1 point -

Rules question
slice60 reacted to SIwrestling for a topic
When the wrestler was up 10 and as soon as he got the reversal, the coach should have known that he was up 12. As soon as back points are being counted, it's just natural for coaches and even the ref to know that tech fall is a real possibility.1 point -
Tournament match scoring errors: A recordable error must be corrected prior to the offended wrestler leaving the mat area if additional wrestling is necessary (Mat Area: Rule 2-1-5: the wrestling mat plus 10 feet). Otherwise, when additional wrestling is NOT necessary, the offended wrestler or coach must remain in the mat area. A computational error must be corrected prior to the next match in which either wrestler competes. Again, if additional wrestling is necessary, it must be corrected prior to the offended wrestler leaving the mat area. I would consider this to be a computational error as the adding up of points was not correctly determined during the action. Therefore, this could have been corrected if determined prior to either wrestler wrestling their next match since the error would not have required re-wrestling. Now maybe the referee, scorer and coaches could not determine that a computation error occurred (they couldnt specifically remember the score and situation) however if they could then it could have been corrected.1 point

Number of sectional participants
Silvertone1696 reacted to XCard for a topic
There were 4 originally seeded at 195, I think one was scratched at weigh-ins and the other was DQd for Flagrant, that is why he was removed and all his points taken away. I can see this Sectional being mixed up in the future. There are rumors of the School City of Hammond downsizing to only 2 High Schools instead of the current 4. Bishop Noll was supposed to be JV only this year, with the low participation numbers, I am not too sure how much longer they will remain a program. Jamal Lawrence is coaching at West Side, so it will be exciting to see if he can revive the program. I know I have already seen him around the youth tournaments. Removing Lake Central from this Sectional really hurt the depth as they would always bring a full team. This Sectional has never been one of the stronger ones, but it always has produced some solid individuals and most teams would bring close to full line-ups. This was the first time that I can remember that we did not have at least one weight class with a first round match. Lowest number of participants I have seen in my time with this Sectional, hopefully in the next couple years we can get the participation up to what it once used to be.1 point -
Brock is still at Northern Illinois. I believe he redshirt this year1 point
-
Except we don't try to figure out where substitutions took place. We estimate a JV or "replacement" level guy to be 75% of your average without him and substitute in the semi-state or higher points from last year for that "replacement" level total. Team total earned in the tournament (not considering full lineup bonus points) DIVIDED BY 14 weight classes TIMES 75 percent EQUALS replacement value Injured wrestler's points last year MINUS replacement value EQUALS points added to your score Example with a team that earned 168 and had a kid get to semi-state (16 points in 2A) last year: 168 / 14 X 0.75 = 9 (replacement value) 16 - 9 = 7 points added to the team's score We have to do it in a general way like this, rather than direct substitution, because many injuries that are added in were season-long injuries where a kid's weight class isn't really known for sure or a late-season injury caused significant lineup jostling and sectional lineups look much different from the regular season. This standardizes it.1 point

That's a tough one!!! It says that the form I used is especially used in the UK. I have a UK friend. I'll go with that. Biased is an alternative form of biassed. Biassed is an alternative form of biased. In en-past of|bias terms the difference between biassed and biased is that biassed is (bias) while biased is (bias). As verbs the difference between biassed and biased is that biassed is (bias) while biased is (bias). As a adjective biased is exhibiting bias; prejudiced.1 point -

Alex Tsirtsis was a Hawkeye and even though he doesn’t talk fondly about his time there it is hard to argue that his coaching style isn’t ‘Iowa Style’. When I watch Jesse wrestle I see the Iowa style bleeding out.1 point -

Here are Genius POTENTIAL ratings for 2019. Remember that these ratings are 100% points-based, not wins/losses based. In general, they are a better predictor of true talent and future success than wins/losses based ratings. However, in some cases of significantly different schedule strength between two teams, there is more variance to how intuitive the ratings come out. The edition below includes every dual and tournament result on IndianaMat for the whole season. The difference in points between two teams is roughly the point difference by which the higher rated team would be expected to win a dual. The foundational algorithm used for these ratings is one of the main baseline algorithms used for setting Vegas point spreads and professional and college sports computer ratings. It's comical that you are telling me to take it easy it's only a board, when it was your panties that got in a bunch in the first place. You told me to study and learn, when nothing I stated had anything to do with a lack of knowledge. You didn't give your opinion, you questioned others knowledge and whether they were an elite wrestler and you didn't like someone's use of the word flaw because you don't "prescribe" to it in reference to wrestling. You got in my craw because you made invalid criticisms and came off like you knew more than everyone else, not only to me. I can live with what I post here. I know the limits of my knowledge and know when it is appropriate to ask questions. And I do recognize awesomeness. I just haven't seen any of it in your posts. Have a great day. It's just a message board, right Luke?1 point
