Favorite Wrestling Saying or Cliches
HawkinIndy and 7 others reacted to MattM for a topic
My favorite saying to hear, well the one I chuckle at, during an event is usually whatever the loud mom is yelling from the top of the stands. From a coaches mouth what I’m usually amused by is when I hear a loud SQUEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZEEE!!!!! being belted out from the corner as they are also making some type of hand jesture while doing a power squat away from their chair.8 points -

Cp v2 would have prob 4-6 or more that would have possibility of qualifying for state and placing that are all young underclassmen. Depth in the room is what makes programs really click and then when the bell rings they are ready to answer. I am sure Brownsburg has several as well. I don't think cp v2 has lost yet if not mistaken. They are really good! Programs like st paris Graham for years had freshman and sophomores not start and then win state titles Jr and sr years from developing with the upper classmen.2 points

A Proposal for Semistate

1.Yea, instead of using these soiled word not be said to the IHSAA, "Wrestlebacks". We'll use the word "Repechage". Its more exotic, mysterious, and interesting. We could rebrand the whole movement 2. "No wrestlebacks" not only make our wrestlers work harder, the process is much more efficient. You only need to wrestle 20 matches per bracket instead of the bloated 29 in a wrestleback bracket. Thats a 35% savings, You sell tickets at full price, but give the customers 35% less matches. That's what you call profitable. They should apply that to the State football and basketball tournaments. Just play 2 1/2 quarters in state tournament basketball games, you get done a lot earlier. That way, the basketball teams would have to do a lot more in the 1st quarter because it would count more. The 1st quarter would be much more exciting. Maybe the should apply that to track also. Like in the 100 Meter dash should be the 65 meter dash. The start of the race would be much more important and really exciting. Instead of going to 25 points in state tournament volleyball games, they should go to 16 points. Lets play 4 1/2 innings in a state baseball games. That 1st inning would really be exciting, just like our ticket round. We could do it to swimming also, Nobody wants to sit and a watch a full 500 meters. Lets reduce it by 35%, people would be much more interested in the 325 meters. Do you want to watch all 18 holes at the state golf tournament? Get this, how about 12 holes. Thats efficient and exciting. Gymnastics has too many apparatus also, lets cut out the uneven bars and give them one vault instead of two. Tennis is too long, lets make it a 4 game set instead of 6. That 1st game really would count.2 points -
Lowell Red Devil hot dogs
EliteAthleticClub and one other reacted to Christopher Bohn for a topic
So, after we all died when the storm hit last weekend, wait a second, ok after checking my notes it looks like the vast majority of us lived, I attended the NCC conference tournament, albeit two hours after it was originally scheduled. First a note on the tournament, I was extremely pleased it went back to being a straight line tournament instead of basically having five separate dual meets. I thought the round robin idea was over thought. Thank you Hanover Central for joining the conference(though I'm still mad at your hot dogs). So, as far as the hot dogs, well, there were pretty good. They weren't up to Mooresville standards, but they didn't have me writing my will like the dogs at Hanover did the week before. When I walked up to the counter, I was a bit concerned because I didn't see any hot dogs in the back, but the nice worker pulled out the hot dogs from a hidden drawer. She should've said "TA DA" or something to that effect. As far as the taste, if these were the hot dogs I was guaranteed to have on a weekly basis, I'd be a happy rasslin' dad. 6.25 slices of pizza outta 8. Next stop is sectionals at East Chicago, and if memory serves me correct, they have had pretty tasty hot dogs in the past, so I'm looking forward to it. Until next time, thank you for reading.2 points -

Might be biased but Graham Calhoun his Senior year. He went into the state series undefeated and without giving up any points. Out of his 46 matches he scored bonus points on 39 of them. He scored 249 team points with a 60% fall rate. Not being taken down until the state semi finals where a last second controversial call put the match into OT. Ended his senior year with a 3rd place medal.2 points -

Listen man. I put what I put. If you want to write a dissertation about how I’m biased and wrong so be it. You guys don’t have a funny bone or the ability to just let someone have their opinion. I’m not trying to prove my understanding of anything. I wrote nothing: I said nothing. Go find something else to do . You don’t know me I don’t know you so have a good day. here… I like A & B …. Why ? They gonna be battle tested . They gonna face each other 2-3x in the next couple weeks in the State Series . Could possibly split wins during that time but that’s what we all pay for admission for . A healthy Reynolds is going to tough to beat . 1st matchup … Mooresville Semi State then they’ll face each other again at Evansville Semi State making it a guaranteed matchup with Huyvaert with one of them at State . LOCK IT UP . Walker is my option C then D would be Arberry . Will it happen like this, Will the Wrestling Magic ball be in TeamGarcia Palm again this year … WE GONNA FIND OUT !
