    Penn vs Mish

That was one of the saddest losses I have ever seen.

  4. What a great match! Glad I attended.... I'm happy (sorta) for Mish as I know the time/effort/commitment they've put in over the past 4-5 years, but I'm proud of Penn for the way they battled and the juggling the staff did to put them in position to win. Technique wise it wasn't the greatest match, but effort and enthusiasm was fantastic! I'd compare it to a ticket round level of intensity...just a great night..except for the ending. Great to see the administrative support from both schools as well..from Superintendent thru elementary clubs. Congrats all the way around!

  6. One thing’s for sure, we need CP at team state to battle it out with BBurg, the Irish, EMD and Warren Central and the rest of the 3A line up of schools. Oh well, a guy can dream......maybe next year I hear?

  9. I'm the head coach at Fishers High School. All three teams (Fishers, Southport, and Franklin Central) are very close in dual meet strength. I'm not debating who is more worthy of a ranking. I just wanted to get on here and point out that at the New Castle Invite, Fishers was not at full strength. We had four starters out (two of which were Semi State Qualifiers last year). One of our backups did very well, but the other three did not fare so well that day. So, the New Castle invite was not a good gauge, in my opinion. Something to take into consideration. I think it's great that all three teams are getting some exposure. Good luck to all during the second half of the season. Thanks for reading.

  10. Parkinson of EMD @ 182 ranked #2? Didn’t he beat #1 ranked Mcpike last year in the go to round 15-0?

In his head he probably thought he was back bridging off his shoulders and wasn't.. I've never seen that position in a match but that is a bad break.. Fattore was worse and still can't believe that happened couple years ago.

  17. I ran some numbers for Crown Point in a dual setting vs Cathedral, Brownsburg, EMD, and Warren. Crown Point vs Cathedral 30-35 (1 match our way 33-32) Crown Point vs Brownsburg 30-34 Crown Point vs EMD 24-28 (1 match our way 27-25) Crown Point vs Warren 39-27 These numbers do not reflect why we are not at team state. I hear we may be moving our schedule around to make room for team state next year, just wasn't able to make it happen this year. If we were in it this year it probably would not go too well. I do believe that Crown Point can win state in a tournament setting.

Mishawaka was apparently down 13-35 with four wrestlers left. All four got pins. Edit: Video on @cavemensports’ twitter account shows the final match ended with the Penn kid pinning himself in a very... strange way.

  22. checking the Senior National pre-seeds today I only see one Indiana wrestler in freestyle. Nick Lee is the 11 seed at 65kg. This is an Olympic trials qualifier event. Top 5 make the Oly trials. There is a murderers row in front of him: Yianni Diakomihalis (Titan Mercury WC) Jordan Oliver (Sunkist Kids) Frank Molinaro (Titan Mercury WC) Evan Henderson (Titan Mercury WC) Jaydin Eierman (Titan Mercury WC) Joey McKenna (Titan Mercury WC) Bryce Meredith (New York AC) Ben Whitford (Titan Mercury WC) Dom Demas (Titan Mercury WC) Dean Heil (Titan Mercury WC) Nick Lee (Nittany Lion WC) Jayson Ness (Gopher WC) Colton McCrystal (Sunkist Kids) Sean Fausz (Titan Mercury WC)

  23. I take your point and I agree in principle. However, that really only works if the ranking are quantifiable and objective measures; they aren't always. By what measures did Fishers and Franklin Central get ranked ahead of Southport? We've never wrestled them in a dual. There is a level of subjectivity involved and that's the fun. And for what it's worth, we received the trophy at New Castle, so someone used some type of criteria to award it to us over them. Just say'n Besides, I'm simply trying to get some visibility and to have folks take into consideration new information. It's about reducing uncertainty, not expecting certainty.

  25. Campbell has looked extremely impressive the times I have watched him (Ohio & Avon) - it is unfortunate most of us will not get a chance to see the CP wrestlers until Friday night of State. Just looking at results I know they have an incredible lineup, especially at the bottom. With that said I believe there are several teams that match up with them between 106-152.

  28. How the rankings should be presented as MD- very consistent team that is solid top to bottom with talent CP- excellent wrestlers, especially in the lower weights. Not sure how their upper weights compete but their lower weights make up for what they don't have up top. Brownsburg- solid up and down but the two teams I mentioned above have more talent in their lineup. For this reason they're ranked below MD. I feel like head to head against CP, CP would squeak by with a narrow victory thanks to the lower weights. Cathedral- sprinkled with talent but overall solid

  29. Region Rat, I agree with Ayersman. Maybe due to climate change or change in lax EPA laws or just a strong south wind. But now there's more of that infamous Steel Mill and Oil refinery pollution/smog, that has that special power of toughening up the lungs and making studs, and now is reaching Crown Point and its making them tough. Or it also could be adding Scott Hinkel to their coaching staff.
