Yes, same as always.
Sectional leaderboard usually isn't till Thursday. It might be later this time. Two of the three of us that usually do most of the work have significant travel this week. Got a new Cook in the kitchen helping us a little though, so we shouldn't be too far off schedule.
Hopefully it's not a short order cook.

The wrestling room at McCutcheon High School has two mats, with practice squads split down the middle by weight. Two mats, working truly in tandem toward both common and individual goals, is the perfect metaphor for the first two returning state placewinners since 2006.
Aiden Dallinger and Cole Chicoine are seniors battling at opposite ends of the Maverick lineup – Dallinger at 120 points and Chicoine at 215. Last season, they became the first McCutcheon state placewinners since 2014 and the first to place earlier than their senior year since junior Travis Dale in 2006.
“Kids need to see an example, and when they see a kid from their school achieve at some of the highest levels, they start to think they can do it too,” McCutcheon head coach Adam Metzger said. “It’s been a huge launching point for our program, and we get to use them as examples in many ways.”
Having not one, but two seniors as focal points for the program has been huge not only in the development of younger wrestlers, but for Dallinger and Chicoine to work as a team in building each other up.

@maligned Will the Hobart Regional still be rated the lowest?
Probably not if you send him some Hobart gear.

That's right, and you wouldn't even have to seed the 8 and 7. You could just make the rule that the randomly drawn kid in the 7 slot moves to the 6, the 8 slot moves to the 7, and the substitute takes the 8 slot.
Actually per the bracket guidelines after figuring out the seeds you place the "7" seeded wrestler then the "8" seeded wrestler then fill in the pig/rat tails.

Breckan Maran, a 190-pound junior at Fairfield High School, is heading to the Goshen Regional for the third time in his prep wrestling career.
For the first time since 2017, the Falcons will be represented by more than two grapplers.

The problem is that the northern portion of the state is much more populated the southern portion. Plus the Indy area is by far the most populated.
When you look at the 4 SS locations you will find that Evansville is the furthest from all the rest. Thus there are going to be many schools that are closer to some of the other locations. Nothing is going to be perfect in this scenario.
It is odd that they choose Evansville to host the State Finals this year, but I am glad they did. But clearly I am in the minority on that.
The New Castle semi-state is also not quite centrally located. It really should be Fort Wayne, Region, Indy, and then something like Seymour(as it once was) in order to space out the best geographically.
However as we all know, venues and wanting to host an event such as semi-state are the biggest hurdles.- TrueRegionFan, Numberz and piscis1956

Yes, I think some of this season’s intriguing sectional and regional realignments caused a lot of ironing to be done.
It's actually more of the dual and tournament results. There are minor things that happen to the data like not having JV listed or stuff like that.

The whole state series alignment thing is intriguing. I would NOT want that job at all.
Just for fun I did a distance to each regional/semi-state for every team in the state.
With approximately 310 schools that means each semi-state should have 77.5 teams. Looking at the Evansville semi-state only, the 78 closest teams by DRIVING mileage for 46 teams Evansville is the closes, 20 teams it's the second closest, 11 teams it's the 3rd closest, and for one team it's the FURTHEST semi-state. For teams actually in the semi-state there are 82 teams, 45 Evansville is the closest, 22 teams it's the 2nd closest, 9 teams it's the 3rd closest, and for seven teams it's the furthest.
South Vermillion goes to New Castle and is closer to Evansville. The seven teams that go to Evansville in which it is the furthest semi-state are Danville, Ben Davis, Brownsburg, Speedway, Tri-West, and Pike.

I would guess in the next day or two. As always the ratings to determine the ever controversial sectional and regional strength took a few tries to get ironed out. I know maligned is working on it though.

I am a newbie fan-- not a coach, former wrestler or wrestler's parent. So please forgive me if this is a dumb question.
I followed 2 sectionals online & printed the brackets when released on Friday. Before action started up Saturday morning, 19 of 28 brackets in those 2 sectionals changed due to forfeits/replacements. In general, why so many? Illness, practice injuries, overweights? All of the above? It seems like wrestlers & coaches fight so hard all year to be in that Sectional lineup whether your individual record is 40-0 or 4-20.
Not knowing specifics but things do happen. On top of that if you have a kid that is questionable you MUST put him in the bracket at the seed meeting if you don't have a backup. You cannot insert a wrestler for a forfeit on Saturday morning.

I do believe most states have 3 levels of state rather than 4.
I also cannot emphasize enough how much I hate forfeits. Treat it like a bye and stop giving kids fake wins. In a dual is makes sense since there is a team score, but in an 8 team bracket just throw in byes rather than a FFT.
It's for team scoring. If there are only 6 wrestlers then the top 2 seeds would only receive 2 advancement points IF he wins the next match aka the semi-finals, while the 3 and 4 seeds(if they win) would get advancement plus bonus. This would mean if the 1 or 2 seeds lose in the semi-finals they will get zero points in the championship side while the 3 and 4 got at least 2 advancement points. In those cases it would be beneficial for your team to have 3-6 seeds instead of a top seed.
