XCard
1 hour ago, UncleJimmy said: Not to interject XCard, as I hear what your saying..but sometimes you don't achieve the score your looking for or think you should, or the one you need to get into your 1st choice so you retake them. With this being the last chance, it could play a role..that's all I'm saying. Also, scholarship $$ are often dependent upon test scores so if you're close and $$ on the line, you take it again. And good luck to everybody tomorrow! 120 looks incredible.. Agreed, most will take it more than once. I guess I am just saying that there are other dates avaialable to take it multiple times other than the only month that would effect the wrestling season. Everyone has specific reasons for taking when they do, to each their own. Appreciate the discussion on the topic.
throw45
Obviously everyone's situation is different, and frankly it's none of my business what other parents do...but I happen to live with a kid who has taken the ACT 3 times and the SAT 3 times, and has never missed a wrestling meet. It can be done. tangarrray

WingT
The very top academic institutions do not offer athletic scholarships. This is the end of Fattore’s academic testing season; similar to football season, it has been months long. He takes school, sports, and church all very seriously. Bigd1459
I commend the kid for making a choice to better his standings in scores for his goal of an Ivy League education. He's not one to "dodge competition". He knows what his ultimate goals are and what's most important.
WingT
Seriously all this fuss about a kid missing one tourney to better his future, while there is no shame for holding your kid back for purely athletic reasons. Come on people its just a sport. Blacknight26 and awood2

No One Famous
I understand Rumph was out and Moran was at 113. Was Portage missing someone else? Perry vs. Portage - Who wins a dual meet with these two guys at their year-end weights?

But for arguement sake, PM did win by 23.5 and w Rumph in and Moran at 106 PM would still have outscored Portage in the tournament.

I have heard for the past two years that Perry is down and they continue to show up and compete. I know 10th at IHSAA state finals would raise that argument, but in a dual meet, they are handful for anyone. Great showing for the team and coaching staff today!! bluemonster

I’m not sure who you are talking about when referring to moving kids in to be good or to have a successful program, but I am pretty sure there are no move ins at Perry. They always seem to have kids that put in time and grind it out in the room and wait for their time and step up when called upon. They have had many state placers that have only wrestled one year Varsity due to being behind someone better. I am not surprised they are solid this year. They put in the work in the off season. That’s what good programs do. Sig40
