  1. Heck of a promotion for him. Kinda shocked they didn’t do a much larger coaching search, especially for a Big10 job. Hope it works out well. Angel has the name recognition and has coached at a few different programs, but it has also been unclear how much development his time at those programs have garnered. Hopefully, with full run of the program he can put together a solid staff that can help the Hoosiers make some solid gains. Plus, can still find a few more diamond in the ruff recruits that can help speed up the rebuilding phase.

  11. If there was no IndianaMat.... there would be no (The)County. I blame the IndianaMat for spreading this disease and making (TheCounty) known to all of the Indiana wrestling community. How horrible!!!!

  12. We'll see if Snyder can swing a raise, I am expensive though so we'll see if he can. And just because I was at Purdue it does not mean I was in the Logansport regional, I always will bleed that region steel mill blood.

  13. Ayersman got soft in his time in the Logansport regional. I heard he almost left the Burg if he couldn't coach at the Dream Team.

  20. I can list several reason why this site is terrible, if I list multiple reason that just goes to show why it should be SHUT DOWN!!!!! 1. They keep the wrestling community informed about rule changes and open dates, etc.... 2. They provide rankings that are often referenced by the local newspaper, i.e. Indystar and the commentators that broadcast various tournaments including the IHSAA STATE FINALS!!! 3. College coaches frequently visit the board to view wrestlers profiles. 4. It keeps you up to date concerning youth tournaments results and mentions The Who's Who of Indiana wrestling. 5. It lists coaches accomplishments and records team records, individual records, etc...... 6. The moderator's are to busy coaching their own teams really to put a lot of work into this site. 7. They are REALLY COOL DUDES THAT HAVE SHOWN DEDICATION TO THE SPORT TO KEEP THE COACHES, FANS, AND OFFICIALS ABREAST TO WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE WRESTLING COMMUNITY IN INDIANA!!! DISCLAMIER, I AM JUST A RETIRED COACH THAT COACH'S HIS SON AT HIS CLUB, BEECH GROVE, AND WHAT TO SEE THE SPORT GROW AND ANY EXPOSURE IS GOOD EXPOSURE IMO!!!

  24. @UncleJimmy......... I am at work now and everyone is looking at me in my cubicle because I am laughing out of control........... these are some of the funniest posts I have ever read. First off @dogsEAT you have issues, some are funny and have given me quite the chuckle and some need serious therapeutic help I think. Who are you I have to know please identify yourself. Second, Uncle Jimmy that was pure gold buddy, pure gold for sure. I also like your reference to the "dislike" button which I truly believe needs to be added at next update for sure. To answer your question however it could not be my son because per his mothers recent review of his search history on his phone he does not visit IN Mat unless its now listed as big boobs, big butts, stuff inside of other stuff (censored) and most recent how to shave below the belt. Great stuff message board people, thanks

  27. Very true points! I just don't think good/great head coaches will want to come to Indiana. Small programs are investing as much as big ten programs. Plus you are truly fighting for the middle of the big ten. To me it's a hard sell to Big time coaches because they have a better shot winning at other conferences. It's not like Indiana has invested in wrestling so why would you trust they would change. They don't care about wrestling. Escobed was at Ohio State during the time they turned things around. He was on staff at Iowa State. Those are two big time programs. So hopefully he learned some things good &bad. I've heard Tom Ryan say some really great things about him.

  28. Maybe, no proof that I know yet. Indiana needs to hire a proven successful head coach to get this dismal program back to respectability. Promoting any of our assistants to take over is asking for another failure.Head coach job at this level, D1, is more administrating than coaching. A. Hiring and keeping good assistants, who do most of the coaching and training of the athletes,B. Promoting the program on campus and off, to keep fans in the seats.C. Get and keep a rapport with in state wrestling coaches, to keep as many elite in state wrestlers home, Angel while a recruiting tool for the program has no experience in any of theses head coaching areas. And him staying at a program, where the head coach Goldman, doesn't do any of these things well, is bad for Angel. He needs to be around a successful program so as to learn how things are to be done.
