  1. I don't know what to say. I didn't have kind words for the Hanover Central hot dogs in December, and yet, somehow it got worse. I wouldn't be surprised if the hot dogs from Saturday were the same ones cooked from the Hanover vs Munster dual meet in December. I likened the hot dog from December to a zombie, and the looks of the one I got on Saturday would be the equivalent of Frankensteins monster. And, the bun was hard. These dogs get .5 slices of pizza out of 8, only because I didn't die Saturday night. Thank you for reading.

  2. I just glanced the bracket and only 2 of the top ten teams as of now are ranked in the top 20 for boys (lake central at 14 and new pal at 18) This parity is great and hopefully the success of these programs will help those teams grow their boys team. more parity is nothing but upside for indiana wrestling. These girls don't realize how instrumental they are in the future of our sports, I consider them our saviors. Keep it upp ladies and coaches grow it!

I agree deep with talent but believe gavin jendreas has really separated himself from everyone. 2-8 a toss-up but #2 and on jendreas was cutting! He has turned a corner! 144 you may call me crazy, but jeffrey hueyvart is the one to beat. Hes been on a mission all season and I think wins state by a decent margin.

    Frosh Soph State

With the girls having a semi state this year, do they automatically qualify for the Frosh Soph state tournament if they made semi state? I know last year the only automatic qualifiers were state placers and everyone else had to qualify at one of the regionals.

    Girls HWT MS State

Why is the Girls HWT class for Middle School State so low compared to High School Girls HWT? For reference - MS HWT is 165 and HS HWT is 235 I'm starting a formal verbal petition to make MS weights more in line w/ HS weights. Since Floyd got in and won IHSWCA duals, I need something new to be upset about.

  44. Nice thanks! So Indiana ranked 14th in NCAA DI qualifiers in 2023. Slightly better than what should be expected from our population (17th). Additionally as I guessed, if you re-rank them looking at qualifiers per capita Indiana goes to 11th. 1. Iowa 5.0 qualifiers per 1 million in population 2. Pennsylvania 3.5 3. Oklahoma 3.2 4. Illinois 2.5 5. New Jersey 2.5 6. Minnesota 2.1 7. Ohio 1.9 8. Missouri 1.9 9. Michigan 1.6 10. Colorado 1.5 11. Indiana 1.0 12. New York 0.9 13. California 0.5 14. Florida 0.4 So as you can see Indiana while considerably behind the best wrestling states in the country, we are out performing our population numbers. And how many states with class wrestling is going to rank below us I wonder? Sorry but I do not believe that this proves beyond a doubt that class wrestling is going to improve our quality. Of course this does not include the entire list. I could only do this exercise for the short list that you provided. There are perhaps some states that are below us in pure numbers that would go ahead of us per capita. But again, I am not against class wrestling. It is needed for the team aspect. Unfortunately, the IHSAA is not concerned with that.

I love it. It’s building up the sport of wrestling in Indiana. Kids who stay on JV have a chance to be a state champ and / or work towards something.
