bluechipper
A wide variety of kids could be considered here. I'd give a nod to Austin Bethel. Four-time qualifier and was ranked fourth. One of J. Lee's four losses and B. Lee's only loss.

MattM
In the early 2000 Madison had a middle weight named Michael Miller that was a 4 time qualifier, but never made it past Friday. Around the same time Bloomington North had a HWT Joey Author who was a Fargo Champ I believe and placed at Fargo another time, but never placed at state. leaveitonthemat
Here is one that most may not know. Antwaun Neal from Lawrence North in 1996. He never made it to state, however he beat TJ Hays from Bellmont (who won state and i think a 2xer) pretty easily. He also majored, tech'd, or pinned several place winner that year. In his career, he had close matches with David Maldonado, James Leavell, and several other Indiana greats. FCFIGHTER170
indyshred
Cole Brandt 09/10 - Lost 3-2 to eventual runnerup Grimes JR year. Couldnt overcome tweaked knee and some questionable calls SR year. Went on to place 4th at Nationals. Wouldve been 184 starter as frosh until broken hand caused redshirt. Had 2nd highest winning percentage on D1 team RS frosh year.
