  1. Antione Neal- Lawrence North, class of 1996. One of the slickest wrestlers I've watched. Had wins over most the people that placed in state that year including 2 time state champ from Bellmont TJ Hays.
  2. Breaking News: With the announcement of Escobedo becoming the new head coach at IU, Brayton Lee and Mason Parris have decommitted from Minnesota and Michigan and have signed with Indiana University. Micic and both Lee’s will be coming home as well!
  3. Nooo....it was so close. Hopefully us Indiana fans will get it eventually
  4. I hate to see them both in consolation bracket, but we may finally get our rematch! Who are you taking?
  5. I don't think a soph Lee is beating Reece as a Senior. I don't think soph Lee is beating soph Tshirts. Lee is a great wrestler, but when everyone was talking about him beating Micic, Micic put it on him. Then everyone talked about him beating Red and that one didn't happen either. I think the confident upper classman wins it here.
  6. Can you imagine Cayden Rooks and Deondre Wilson in a match together? It would be a four point stance showdown and probably the most boring first period ever lol
  7. When we are talking about state titles, in Hughes' defense, if it weren't for a nasty spladle he would have won his sophmore year as well. I watched him beat up on Tommy Cash in the finals of Al Smith and probably would have pinned him except for Tommy being extremely flexible and screaming out right before he turned so the ref kept stopping it.
  8. I don’t have the privilege of knowing some of these guys, but I can tell you Chico was very athletic for a big guy. Bernard was strong and very hard to move.
  9. As much of a Parris fan as I am, I am not sure he's beating some of these guys. The weight differential is huge. Look at Snyder/Coon.
  10. So you think that Drew could turn him? That's the hard part with this match up. Regardless if Drew gives up 1 takedown or 3, if he doesn't turn him, I don't think he's winning.
  11. His senior year I saw him taken down by a kid that was much less than 4 time state champ Maurer. I think Maurer beats him on his feat all day. Hughes was arguably one of the best ever on top, so the question for me is if he did choose top, could he turn a 4 timer?
  12. Hughes wasn't as strong on his feet. Maurer is getting a few takedowns and my guess is he will not chose down.
  13. That stinks, you would think they would want one more nationally ranked wrestler in the lineup that they could promote.
  14. No Joe Lee? Would love to see him come back for this.
  15. I'd like to see some video of them wrestling at that age!
  16. I don't remember his record, but Deandre Hill from North Central wrestled Pat Cassidy in the finals of state didn't start that season until sectionals.
  17. I think Joe has gotten a lot of experience, but that is irrelevant. The topics is the Joe that won state last year versus the Brayton that won this year. These two are both such high caliber that a year of experience means a ton of growth. That’s why I’m saying Brayton.
  18. Rumph and Garcia for me. I know it sounds crazy since they are both accomplished, but I just really liked how they got after it. Rumph was taking people down with ease and Asa avenged his losses to Mills with fury.
  19. Remember we aren't talking about Joe this year, Brayton has the advantage of another year of experience in which he has placed higher than Joe at a big tournament this summer.
  20. Here are a few things that impressed me today and a few that didn’t. Impressive 1.Asa Garcia wrestled like a man on a mission. The way he handled Smiley and Mills was awesome. 2. Rumph’s takedown game. He was fast, strong, and was scoring points with ease. The way he scored on Lee and Melloh...wow. 3. Rader, not sure if it was the way he went after it in the final or his mustache. 4. Fattore-the way he handled the controversy, with class. 5. The beard game in the Avon and Wabash corner was strong! 6. I hate to admit it, but Cathedral wrestled lights out all tournament series. Not impressive (not in any order) 1. Fair’s singlet, sorry but I like the Perry blue 2. Tonte’s shoes, I thought Krulik was killing something? 3. I had Mulkey winning it all, but I was not impressed with the way he wrestled. I wished he would have been more aggressive. 4. Little Rooks. I also had him winning, but he just didn’t let it go. That four point stance I think hurts him more than helps. 5. The lack of breakfast food offered to all of us early risers at Bankers life. 6. We didn’t get a Mongolian protest. When Snyder took off the tie I thought it was coming
  21. Any stat guys out there know the most losses for a champ?
  22. He is, but I’m pretty sure that Parris could beat every kid entered. I think they should do a king of the mat and line up all the state champs and wrestle him.
  23. Looking at the brackets I’m seeing kids with 10-15 losses advancing to Saturday. What is the most losses anyone has had gone to state? How about won state?
  24. I want to see Mason go against Gable Stevenson next year! I would be impressed if he could keep the score as close as Kerkvliet did.
