Moran takes a loss in the quarters... On a personal note... Unseeded Brewer gets a medical forfeit to advance to the semis to secure all-American status! Not how I wanted it... proud of him none the less.

Somebody more ahead of the time than me; has Indiana ever come even close to a Flo tournament of a champion, a runner-up, four 3rd placers, a 4th, a 6th, and an 8th?

Ty ended up 6th... kinda fun not cutting and realizing almost everyone he wrestled was at 132 or 138 during HS season! Gotta get ready for next year at 133 though! Great job by all the IN wrestlers!!!

A few years ago Brandon James wrestled 120 at flo after wrestling at 132 throughout the season, and beat Chad Red for third place. I don’t remember anyone giving him crap for it, and Rumph shouldn’t either.

THIS IS COACH BEHLING, HEAD COACH AT CULVER ACADEMIES. FIRST THINGS FIRST, MANZONA BRYANT IS A GREAT KID AND TOUGH AS NAILS. HE WOULDN'T BE IN THE SEMIS AT FLO IF HE WAS NOT. I AM NOT AT FLO WITH MANZONA, BUT I DID WATCH IT LIVE ONLINE ON FLOWRESTLING. WHILE WATCHING, THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT WAS "THAT'S ILLEGAL." BOTH REFEREES CLEARLY AGREED. IN REGARDS TO THIS POST, I HAVE WATCHED THE RE-RUN OF THE VIDEO. THE COACH IN THE CORNER NEVER MADE EYE CONTACT WITH OR HAD ANY COMMUNICATION WITH MANZONA PRIOR TO HIM GRABBING HIS BACK. MANZONA DID LOOK BACK TO THE CORNER, BUT THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THEM. THE COACHES IN THE CORNER WERE NOT EVEN LOOKING AT MANZONA WHEN HE LOOKED OVER. IT IS CLEAR HE GRABBED HIS BACK WITH NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE COACH. GO TO TIME 7:52. I AM NOT TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM CHRIS RUMPH WITH THIS POST. I HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR HIM AND WHAT HE HAS ACCOMPLISHED IN THE SPORT OF WRESTLING. I THINK VERY HIGHLY OF HIM REGARDLESS OF THE MISTAKE HE MADE IN THIS MATCH.

Why does he have to be dodging a bullet when there is a 5 lbs weight allowance here at Flo Nationals. This event is a Top 3 Event in HS Wrestling you gotta cut weight . He choose that that route. Great Job to Mr. Rumph !

Not the best semi-finals round for our guys, but in all fairness they have been the underdog/lower seed in every match they’ve lost, with the exception of the Indiana vs. Indiana match at 132. Assuming Mason is in the championship, two finalists and about seven others guaranteed top 6 is still a pretty stellar tournament for Indiana.

Back bows are illegal upon application. It was 100% an illegal move.

Wow, Rumph got hosed. He was the superior wrestler today. Definitely questionable on the back bow, seen far worse than that not get a call, and the referee wasn't on the right side to see if it was over the hip or toward the head anyway. Regardless, very few coaches would allow their guy to take a win that way.

Indiana Gold finishes runner-up to a very talented Illinois Outsiders squad. Great effort by these young men and coaches. Undefeated wrestlers going 7-0 for Team IN Gold included...... 120-Watts 145-Slivka 182-Allred 285-Pokorney Multiple other 1 or 2 loss records on the Gold squad, with W’s against legit opponents. Blue Team and the Indiana Renegade Teams also had some outstanding individual performances as well. Great effort collectively by these Indiana student-athletes.

I have seen the video and RUMPH was dominating the match. It was a Coaches call..Shame on him!

This tournament there is a 5 pound weight allowance, 132=137 , Kris wrestled 138 all year as did Dawson , this is a national tournament , most people drop weight classes because of the weight cutting.. I Would have liked straight up high school weight classes , we would have went 138. As I am sure Rumph would have done the same.. Our best Indiana kids don’t run and dunk competition. Every weight class is loaded with talent ..

That would be my 2 cents as well. He competed at 138 during the HS season and "132" is 137 @ FloNationals. Seems like a good call. Don't think it means he's dodging anyone. You make the weight, you wrestle. That's how it always works all year.... Don't recall anyone dogging NATO for going down a weight this year.

Who are you to judge what weight a young man, state champion at that, chooses to wrestle at a very tough national tournament?

Rump up 5-2 in third. Tired to hit a backbow turn and was called for illegal hold (illegal in HS not college). Maybe some confusion on which rules they were going by since FloNationals has some college rules added in. Vega asked ref a few questions about it during injury time. Bryant didn’t comeback out after injury time was up due to sore back, so Rump was DQed. Vega not happy with how that one ended.
