New Pal - CJ Red ( 4 x Champ )

Cathedral - Lance Ellis ( 4x Champ )

Crown Point - Jesse Mendez ( 4x Champ )

I assume you mean just during their high school career?  Otherwise (and I know you know this), Jason Tsirtsis also was a 4 timer for CP (though with 2 losses) but also was an NCAA champion.

PM has a crap ton for the argument.

Chico Adams - 157-8 record, 2× State Champion

Alex Cottey - 164-8 record, 4× State Finalist, 2× State Champion, 2018 Junior Freestyle All-American

Cody LeCount - 180-2 record, 3× State Finalist, 2× State Champion, 2012 Cadet Freestyle Finalist

Jared McKinley - 201-8 record, 2× State Champion, 2× Junior Freestyle All-American

Nate Moore - 101-1 record (last two seasons), 2× State Champion, Junior Freestyle National Champion

Nick Walpole - 197-18 record, 2005 State Champion

Noah Warren - 166-9 record, 2× State Finalist, 2018 State Champion, NHSCA Sophomore All-American

Donte Winfield - 88-4 record (last two seasons), 2013 State Champion, 2012 Junior Freestyle National Finalist

Brandon James - 169-8 record, 4× State Medalist, 2014 State Finalist, NHSCA Senior All-American, 2013 Junior Freestyle All-American, 2× Cadet Freestyle All-American, 2012 Super 32 All-American

If we are to include accolades beyond high school, Winfield was an NJCAA All-American for Harper College, Adams and James were NAIA All-Americans, and Walpole is an NCAA Division II National Champion for the University of Indianapolis, the only champion in school history. Also, not listed above was Nick Bova who was a three-time state medalist in high school and a two-time NCAA Division III All-American for Wabash College.

Rochester is interesting as the top 3 in my opinion come down to all heavyweights.

Damon Hummel 94'

https://indianamat.com/index.php?/wrestler_detail.html/graduated/damon-hummel-r4350/

SQ 189, 2nd 189, 2nd Hwt, 3rd Hwt

Brady Beck 24'

6th 220, 7th 220, 5th HWT, 2023 IHPO Champ, Rochester all time wins (164)

Marshall Fishback 22'

Rochester’s only state champ

It depends on what metrics you value most.  I think Marshall takes it.  Honorable mention to James Samuels at HWT.  First Rochester wrestler to win the Al Smith beating Mike Pinter in 2001.

Hopefully in 2 years I change my answer to Brant Beck.

Damon Hummel was getting it done back when there was not a 215 weight class.  If there had been, I think you can make the case that he would have been a 2x state champion.

Just my opinion but Damon Hummel is hands down the best wrestler in Rochester history. If 215 was a thing he is easily a two time champ.

Feels a bit sacrilegious to not say teammate/friend Nick Crume (Q, 3, 3, 1), and while I predict he’d win the head to head more often than he’d lose, I have to choose Hunter Watts (6, 2, 1, 3) since it says “most accomplished.” Only Jimmie with a placement all four years and only to make it under the lights twice.

Not a Jeffersonville historian by any means, but

Robert Rosbottom - 2x state champ

Adam Doherty - 2x state champ

Alonzo Shepherd - 2x placer, 3x qualifier, most career wins at Jeff, and at one point was 12th in Indiana history for career wins

Gavan Jolley-Little - State placer, FILA Cadet Greco Roman National champ, USAW Folkstyle National Champion

I agree.  If the answer is best, he is it.

215 existing the year after he graduated is as tragic as Ball State (where he played varsity football all 4 years) eliminating wrestling in 93'.  Not sure he would have wrestled there, but he never even had a chance.

Neat to learn Jeffersonville has some Greco history.  Ben Land makes even more sense now.
