Dark horse to win a title? Or someone who is dangerous that can make a deep run?

For Horning/Elpers, defensive pin. For those MD fans that remember Chris Wildeman v Richie Diggs state finals match, it was not the famous “Richie Diggs” move. Great win for Elpers. Wouldn’t call it much of an upset for Williams/Vanover, they have had close matches most of the time. See you next week, Mr Vanover! #BringBackTheTights

We all hear of the top ranked fellas. Who are some lesser named fellas we should keep an eye on heading into SS? I'll start with Jett Goldsberry of Heritage Hills. Ranked 23rd and just a freshman at 170#

Looks like Clay Martin lost in the semifinals by Injury Default. Hope its nothing serious. Landon Horning lost in the semifinals to Brendan Elpers by fall? TW shows horning was up 11-2 and lists the fall at 6:00. Was it truly a last second comeback? A reversal to a fall perhaps? At first glance, don't see any other big upsets. Is Vanover over Keegan Williams a mild upset? Not sure on that one.

    Jesse Mendez

RBY is like a lion who plays with its food. Many matches appear closer than they are. This match wasn't close. Like most of RBY's matches. Mendez is having a great frosh campaign, but beating RBY at this point would be a major upset. There's a reason RBY is a multi-time National Champ.

    Jesse Mendez

It looked like Mendez was considering pulling the trigger near the end with a throw to go for the win. You could hear his team tell him “Be smart, Jesse.” He may have heard them and decided to keep it at a 3-point decision instead of going for a win and risking a major or a fall. Even if RBY countered and pinned Mendez, the 6 points vs 3 points wouldn’t have made any difference in the meet, and no one was predicting Ohio State to beat Penn State or for it to even be close. The score was 29-9, and Ohio State won 2 of 10 matches with 3 take downs total. Hopefully, the crowd noise at NCAA drowns out the bench advice and we get to see a Lance Ellis ( should be doing lateral clinics) move or his high school freshman one he did on a state champ at the Al Smith.
