  1. It may go down again in Vegas!!! Both kids are rolling. Bryce is the 1 seed and Red is 2. Red with 2 pins to start the day!!!! Red would have a tough Thorn (who he beat this season) in the semis. Bryce may have Yanni D in the semis. I'm calling my shot now..... Yanni D will beat Meredith!!!

    HARVEST CLASSIC!

We have some guys that are taking SATs also in the upcoming weeks. Academics should always come first. But... Let's be honest, we are talking about December, January, and February that need to be avoided to make sure our guys are ready to compete in our scheduled matches, most of which are set with plenty of time to plan around. It is a little frustrating as coaches when a kid tells you he scheduled it during a tournament weekend. Not the end of the world, but something we definitely try to plan around in future seasons. Good luck to all the wrestlers this weekend, always great wrestling at the Harvest.

  6. Hate to get everyone's hopes up but Fattore will be at SAT'S. He is bummed that he doesn't get to compete, but like we have always said for him and to all of our wrestlers, "Academics come first". Zack has impressed us on the mat but more importantly, he has impressed us academically. He is #1 in his class and is a beast on the mat.

    HARVEST CLASSIC!

Obviously everyone's situation is different, and frankly it's none of my business what other parents do...but I happen to live with a kid who has taken the ACT 3 times and the SAT 3 times, and has never missed a wrestling meet. It can be done.

Not to interject XCard, as I hear what your saying..but sometimes you don't achieve the score your looking for or think you should, or the one you need to get into your 1st choice so you retake them. With this being the last chance, it could play a role..that's all I'm saying. Also, scholarship $$ are often dependent upon test scores so if you're close and $$ on the line, you take it again. And good luck to everybody tomorrow! 120 looks incredible..

Great pick up for Region sports for the broadcast. Who will give better insight on one of the toughest tournaments in region then Josh Morgan. I’m hearing a couple big guns will be out of a couple line ups still a great day of wrestling.

    State Rankings #1

I mean it's just the first rankings... get some big wins and move up to feel good. It only matters at the state finals

    New Uniform issues

We did not have any problems at all. Wrestled 5 dual meets and not one violation of any sorts. Uniforms look good as well to the new fan. I asked a few students that were in attendance, who had been to maybe one or two wrestling matches previously, each thought visually the uniforms were much more fan friendly than the singlet. Most said the singlet looked stupid. Just like most of the die hard fans, I love the singlet and have no problem with it, but to the casual fan the new uniform looks much better.

This is the clear result of things like Contenders, RWA, MCWC, Elite Athletic Club, Pride, Red Cobra, ISWA Team IN trips to compete nationally, even things like Trackwrestling coverages and as bad as its product is FLO !!! These are great times for the sport now with that said come to BBurg tonight and watch a HS dual meet that is exciting and fun to be a part of for the athletes and entertaining for the crowd. Snyder does great things to take a normally boring (for the average spectator) wrestling dual and turns it into an exciting spectacle that students and people in the town not usually interested in the sport want to come out and see !!!!

    Toughest SS ?

I think a more interesting question what are the toughest SS's by weight class? Anyone up for the challenge?

  23. New Castle historically has had the most placers and the best winning percentage. East Chicago or formerly Merrillville typically has the most state champions. Evansville might be the toughest this year with the dominant #County teams in it. Ft Wayne has Y2 and his historical stats that can make that SS look good.
