  1. Thank you to all the folks responsible for such a great day of wrestling yesterday.

Whether you are the folks that provide individual rankings, team rankings, team seeding, event organization, or the REFEREES, coaches and wrestlers, days like yesterday reward all those growing this sport in Indiana.

Thank you to the IHSWCA for creating this event and not only continuing the team state opportunities for all these teams, but also showing a better use for “basketball” courts . . . 😉

Can we an have an emergency IHSWCA  meeting to add a 3.5A division to this years team state so this issue can be remedied. Team eligibility being based on school who were once above 2000 but have recently fell below it during the course of the current school year.

This sounds like a great start! Now please just just make sure to have 12 teams in the 3.5A division! 😉

How has no one mentioned Craig Macke??

In 2001, Franklin’s senior Aaron Clark (48-0) defeated sophomore Macke (39-3) 4-3 to win the 103 lb. state championship. The next week at team state, Macke defeated Clark 10-9. I’m not sure, but my guess is that Macke’s 3 losses might have all been to Clark, at state, semi-state and the Holiday Classic. If so, I bet they were all close.

Macke was so close to being a multiple state winner . . .

Does someone smarter than me know how to paste from a spreadsheet without pasting a minuscule spreadsheet with teensy little characters (or in the above without columns lined up)?

Those of us who AREN’T smarter than you are just grateful for the work you put into accumulating all this data and putting into a format that allows us to get the info on the various teams. Thank you.

I might be old and senile, but I’m pretty sure there was a page or two of chatter years ago about Bryce Hasseman of Franklin having the takedown record. I know he was gunning for it his senior year, but I don’t think there is great data surrounding takedowns.

My understanding is that Bryce set the one year record at 269 his senior year.

Hopefully you guys are aware, EMD Holiday Classic is STREAMING for $8 throughout the entire competition.  NO ARCHIVES will be available.

    Thanks!

Is that for both days? It looked like it was only for tomorrow (12/29) when I looked it up on track.

You are forgetting to mention a lot of the details from the situation. The Franklin kid fill out head butted Pruett first. Pruett cross faced him.

The Franklin freshman wrestler was on bottom near the out of bounds on the side of the mat in front of me, with Pruett on top of him leading 14-0. The Franklin wrestler jerked his head back into Pruett’s face. Pruett then hit the Franklin kid in the back of the head with a closed fist. There was no “cross face” . . .

There were two refs working the match. They conferred and made their decision (head butt on Franklin kid, flagrant on Pruett) that led to Pruett being disqualified.
