Vargo beat thrive 2x, MS State 2nd and 1st. His 2nd was a 3-1 loss to Stanley. Almost teched Guyer. Kid is gonna be on the podium at minimum. Placed 4th at NHSCA twice. Harper won MS State and NHSCAs.
Beast Penn will be tough.

Coach Tsirtsis and the Mt. Carmel Caravan are getting another great wrestler from the region! I saw on social Media that Evan will compete in Illinois. He will do great things for those guys and with CP continuing to wrestle Mt. Carmel it will be great to see Evan wrestle some tough Indiana guys! Good luck Stanley Family hopefully 4x illinois champ!

If Hawkins and Rinehart go to state, what place would they have gotten? What that have been the best team ever?
Tough to say I think both would medal, Rinehart was in the line up and beat some guys who medaled. I don’t think he beats Lowery.
Hawkins has wins over multiple guys who have medals but doesn’t have wins over Joey, Ison, Kyrell Or Maldonado. Griffen was a SQ for Cp at 32 so they had a solid guy there.
They get both back next year it will be interesting to see where they fit in the l line up. CP had a solid day Newell winning 16u 113, Sessa winning 16U 126, Hawkins champs in juniors and runner up at 38, GVT 5th at 152, MJ staples 3rd at 52, Rinehart Champ at 170 juniors, Reading champ at 95,
The younger Clark brothers both medaled and Brooks was 3rd
Bburg is adding some studs Rojas over Goldberry at 82, Brewer up at 220, Gunner at 195, Fugate won it at 285 cadets.
I am not sure what schools the smaller weights will be at
I think Huddleson is a bburg kid and Bridge and Bell are Avon(who is stacked down low)
Boyd will be a nice addition to Delta to go with Bollinger mosier and Kaid Jackson

Did we ever get a reason why Hawkins didn’t compete this year? Injury or disciplinary reason? I understand not going into details if it’s the latter but I don’t recall seeing any explanation for not wrestling this season. Same goes for Rhinehart at Regionals. Did he miss weight? Injured?
Rinehart missed weight at the regional. The exact amount would only be speculation. He talks about the Cut in the CP movie around the Iron man timeHawkins was disciplinary unfortunately kids make mistakes it was good to see him on the Mat this weekend. We covered it on Gorilla radio around the time it happened.

Crazy enough that Hawkins doesn't win a cadet title.
Tommy Gibbs is the real deal that was a good match.
cadets was tough, a lot of really good matches
-
Pretty impressive Landon Hawkins won Juniors with out giving up an offensive point. I think he will look to double up tomorrow with a cadet title.
weight jumps are always interesting, how the incoming freshman compete with established cadets is always exciting

"If kids were allowed in season to club practice with club coaches would that solve some issues from moving"?
This is the single biggest issue holding back wrestlers at weak programs. Even an academy wrestler at a school with subpar coaching and low-level practice partners will get worse during the season, not better.
IHSAA rules seem designed to make sure that strong programs remain strong and weaker programs can't compete.
A track athlete can do event practice mostly solo, but to become a top wrestler you need practice partners of a certain level.
I do think it would help with some of that. It’s a weird rule

I would agree with that statement.
I have no idea ?? But are you saying that the "Region Wrestling Academy" has no influence in these results??
Look - this isn't an "attack" on CP and/or BB at all. What they have accomplished and built is incredible!
But I believe the person that started this thread asked "what are these programs doing differently" that sets them apart?? What is the "secret sauce" so-to-speak.
And- to me - just looking at it from afar the answer seems pretty simple - they are getting the best kids from the best academies to gather under one roof/one team.
I know there are many more factors...but that seems to be a pretty big one.
And it may come across as such - but it is not even really meant to be a critisim and/or a slight.
"If you build it = they will come"
Dedicated coaches and surrounding your self with good coaches.
We used to kinda do academies, it would be open rooms
in the Region access to top level training partners and high level coaching has helped academies

I am sure wrestling at region wrestling academy helps when you are with the same people every weekend you build relationships with like minded people.
Alex Tsirtsis is the owner of RWA and head Coach at Mt. Carmel.
Jose Escobedo RWA coach assistant coach at MC
Jason Tsirtsis RWA coach
paul Petrov RWA coach
Mt. Carmel has benefited the most
106-Lukas Tsirtsis Munster
120-Damien Resendez Crown Point
126- Jario Acuna Wheeler/portage
132- Sergio Lemley Chesterton 4xer
145- Nam Doan Lake Central
it sounds like a couple 8th graders might be there also.
I do not think any current CP coaches help at RWA. They are all go for Bulldogs Premier
i can not speak for the other areas but Buying a house in CP is tough, it’s a hot over priced market. If you are convincing families to sell their current homes and buy a new house in Cp then you might be in the wrong line of work.

When choosing a community to move to if sports has an impact
1. does your coach help you all year or is only an October-February it’s a lot tougher to be a part time wrestler and have success
2. does it create a better training environment in season Partners, weight program coaching or coaching plans
3. does the school have a better academics then our current community
4. does the sport have better overall community support
I think as a parent that makes the choice easy for me.
