In the past I would enter team and individual scores so people could know. I didn’t have a child wrestling, just loved the sport. As most of you know I would also do spreadsheets with stats galore. I have stopped the last few years; if I could take the time to do it, someone without ANY vested interest, surely a current parent/coach can perform this task on a regular basis.

If the goal is the best 16 wrestlers to state, then there needs to be true wrestlebacks at all the state series levels. Also, since we are crowning a team champ with a individual tournament, there should also be true wrestlebacks and no one and done 1st round. Might have had a different team champ this year with wrestlebacks.
You would still have wrestlers at home, on Friday night, that would have qualified had they avoided the "loaded" regional/semi-state. Wrestle-backs provides the best chance to get the Top 4 from a given location, on that given day. Nothing more, nothing less.

I give Red a puncher's chance of beating Eierman, but that's it. His match with him at Big 10's wasn't close, Eierman dominated him. I have a hard time seeing Red turning that around in a rematch.
I have watched Eierman in 3 matches now, and I don't recall him taking a single shot. Everything is a counter....I can see a few guys changing up their strategy to get him off his game.

I can tell, if I’m wrong about the next match, if it happens. I’m going to be run out of town.
Of course we can all have our own opinions, but I think you find yourself in the small minority calling this match a "taking to the woodshed" type of event. For the record, I think that statement is 100% wrong. As you can see, for you to imply Mr. Nick Lee was 'beat down' in a wrestling match with a 6-5 score could be considered blasphemy in certain circles.

How about McGill vs Cosgrove? I doubt anyone wrestled 7x in the same season.
I recall Bradbury vs Ramos having 6 battles in the same year, Ramos won them all, including the Finals.

Crown Point semi state:
106: Champ, SQ in Jackson and Cruz
113: 5th and 6th for Bahl and DeMarco
120: Champ and a runner-up
126: 4th placer Sam Goin
132: Three placers in this weight class alone: Torres with 8th, Roberson with 7th, and Solomey with 6th (Solomey placed third at this regional by the way)
138: Another champ, you all know who
145: 5th placer Ethan Kaiser
152: Runner-up, 6th place, and two qualifiers, all four wrestlers here made it to the show, Ellis in 2nd, Estrada in 6th, and Pollitt and Ponce make the qualifiers
160: Cruz in 5th and Salary qualifies
170: Sneed gets 8th
182: Layman places 5th, Sues places 8th, and Kwiatkowski qualifies (almost 4 qualifiers at this weight, LaPorte's Browder dropped a one point match to eventual 4th placer Estepp)
195: DeMarco gets 4th
220: Bates places 3rd
285: Whitenack qualifies
So here we have 3 champs, 2 runner-ups, and 19 medals total.
Maybe we call this the 6th semi-state?
In a different thread I listed the over/under at 2.5 for State Champs - I was wrong, I took the under.

Just talked to a buddy from Franklin County, and he confirmed that Shafer is yet to see the second period this season. All first period pins. Just FYI.
He was 27-4 last year, got 3rd at Regional and lost to Dakota Arvin in the 1st round of semi-state. Congrats to the young man for a helluva turnaround, not that last year was bad, but this year is fantastic!

As I recall in 2001 Macke avenged the loss to Clark the following week at Team State. I was a fan of the teams wrestling mid-week during the individual series. Now granted that may not have been the best concept for the wrestlers, but as a fan it was a great month!

Holy cow, are you secretly the boss of the banana mafia?
I gave him 50k because he adds so much material and insight to the threads.

Last year I inputted individual results to earn 50,000+ bananas— if everyone would do their own it would most definitely make it more efficient/accurate, but the rankings are rock-solid.

Not a knock on Indiana Mat, but some of these rankings are inaccurate. To be fair, there are so many matches and wrestlers so it is hard to keep up with. Going off of rankings for the brackets would be very stupid. Go off of who that person beat and how he did in their regional.
I could not agree less. Annually for 10+ years I have created dozens of spreadsheets detailing the accuracy of the rankings. IndianaMat rankings is incredibly accurate/consistent. I do not want the SS to be seeded, but if they did decide to do it, using the rankings would be an intelligent start for the process.

Nam was ineligible at LC, I hear he will be wrestling for the Caravan and coach Tsirtsis. Great landing spot for Nam, a loss to indiana wrestling
predictions
106: jackson, Cortez Cruz Walden
113: Bahl, Demarco, Rivera, Kranz
120: lemley, Frazier, Kasprzak, whitmer (possible state championship match)
126: Goin, Vitello, solomy Daniels/Adamczyk (will be a good one early coin toss match)
132: Roberson Torres solomy Durall **nasty weight top 3 could all be in the semis
138: mendez, Contreas Ruoff Glass
145: Goodwin, Kaiser, Bisping Krause
152: Estrada, Ellis Politt Anderson/ponce (first rd will be a great match early on)
160: Cruz, salary, Bolin, serafin
170: Sneed, tattini, Johnson, Kwitowski (even weight across the board any guy could win)
182: Layman, kwitkowski Browder, Sues(don’t sleep on Carter CP record is not great but is a talented wrestler who got in late)
195 Demarco, Clark, Hoffman Antrim
220 Bates Degrado, Clark Cosmos
285 Whitesnack Mollencupp, Garcia Ruess
half of the state Champs could be out of this regional. I feel like this is tough draw Regional at the semi state. Lots of these guys will be in Indy in 3 weeks
7 out of 14?!? I know I have been quiet this year and I haven't done the proper research to make this comment, but I will anyway...I would put the over/under at 2.5 State Champs from this Regional and I am taking the Under.

Bankers Life just had Disney on ice with over 50% capacity. Looked pretty full from the pictures I saw.
The belief of 'cold weather' killing the virus must apply when ice is on the floor. With that I believe there are two options in order to have 50% attendance. (1) put the mats on ice instead of hardwood or (2) give everyone in attendance free snow cones all day.
I am a problem solver.

Ancilla College, located in North Central Indiana, is still actively recruiting for all weight classes for the coming year. We provide a great opportunity to wrestle at the Junior College level. We provide the opportunity to build your stock and be seen by 4 year colleges from Indiana and around the country. Those wrestlers that have not chosen a college as of yet, or would like to wrestle at a 4 year college and feel you've been over-looked, I strongly encourage you to take a look at Ancilla. We are coming off a great season where we had 4 National Qualifiers with 1 All-American and also had 4 NWCA Academic All-Americans. I am trying to grow the program and give more Indiana wrestlers the opportunity to wrestle at the next level. Those interested may contact Coach Line at the number and email provided here.

My son, who is a baseball player, took a few years off after high school to get his head right. He was a member of the Indiana Bulls program through high school but lost his way his junior year and disappeared from the radar of coaches. Last year he made a choice to resurrect his career and live in the dorm at Ancilla. He made great friendships while enjoying the school/instructors. They do a great job of being there for the student; my son is returning even though he had other options so I believe that speaks volumes of his experience. I give the school 2 thumbs-up!!

Tristan Moran, 17-5, ranked #11 (6-4 in last 10)
B10 Wins: Cole Martin, Parker Filius, Chad Red, Mitch McKee, Justin Benjamin
B10 Losses: Max Murin, Luke Pletcher, Nick Lee
Chad Red, 15-6, ranked #5 (7-3 in last 10)
B10 Wins: Mitch McKee, Cole Martin, Eddie Bolivar, Matt Santos, Max Murin,
B10 Losses: Luke Pletcher (2x), Nick Lee, Tristan Moran
Max Murin, 12-1, ranked #7 (9-1 in last 10)
B10 Wins: Mitch McKee, Parker Filius, Eddie Bolivar, Dylan Duncan, Tristan Moran
B10 Losses: Chad Red
Just looking at the data, I would have Murin the 3rd seed as well.....the 4th seed is very debatable between Red & Moran.

I would like to apologize as we have helped make it easy to know everything about Indiana wrestling. Maybe we should require Rakestraw to listen to Gorilla Radio.
At the very least he would appreciate knowing where to eat in the Region because I know he travels a bunch doing radio!!
Personally I like Mr. Rakestraw hosting the event but they definitely need to either (1) improve their knowledge or (2) add people who know the wrestlers background (youth - high school).
