I got forwarded an email from a friend I used to coach with.  He emailed Mr. Faulkens to express concerns about 2 sessions, assigned seating, two parade of champions, warmups before weighins, etc.  
 
Personally, I hate dividing my team and coaches...it is a logistical nightmare to figure out what to do with everyone and how to get them where they need to be with 2 sessions.
 
Mt friend was told that we are doing this because it is what the coaches and wrestlers wanted.

Did I miss a survey or meeting?  I can't find a single coach that likes the new format.  Am i missing something?

Was there a formal survey that I missed?
 
And no matter how many coaches a team takes, you are only allowed two in the corner... So the maximum number of coaches on the floor would always be 16!!!  
 
But I think it is ridiculous that we make coaches pay at Regional and Semi-State as well.  Regional you get 2 coaches and Semi-State I believe it was 3...
 
I wonder how many assistants are allowed in other sports...
 
 

BRING BACK THE LANYARDS!!!!

Does this bother anybody else?  1-3 wrestlers per session gets you 2 wristbands unique to that session.  
 
If you have multiple wrestlers in a session, but no more than 3 then you only get 2 wristbands.  
 
So, lets say that the following athletes are all in the same session and prefer to be coached by:
 
Jimmy coached by : Josh and Mike
 
Jordy coached by:  Nick and Tyler
 
Johnny coached by: Tyler and Alex
 
That's 5 coaches listed, but only 2 bands available.
 
So we are saying that these assistant coaches who do work all year long, potentially cannot be a part of the most prestigious event.  It's not like they get paid a ton and they're away from their families for a few months out of the year.  Also, we are saying that even though Johnny is comfortable with these coaches and they've coached him all year long, he can only get these coaches today.  Sorry, we are going to do things differently once we get to state...ANYBODY else having this frustration?  

Look's like we should petition for next year to be a normal Friday night again. This has been a mess. The Friday morning has been really inconvenient for some parents & fans to even make it there. Those kids deserve a hype and packed crowd too. Just my thoughts.

Maybe competing teams, kids, coaches will get another 4'x4' taped-off square to stage in like last year

I’m confused on why there would be any restrictions on tickets this year? I just attended a concert last weekend at Gainbridge, and it was 100% capacity. Why restrict some events and not others.. makes no sense too me. Open it all the way up 100%

Everyone everywhere, first come, first serve. Better get them finger typing skills going . Almost like buying a pair of Jordans online sites . 

I think EC did a great Job. Brought pro fight announcer Ray Flores in for the finals which was cool. 
The head of security was a little over the top. 😒

i say we start a go fund me to add 500 extra seats at Merrillville and a cooler area 

Merrillville—or you don’t like tough wrestling. 
 
As soon as Covid and all other contagions are no longer a big deal, it’ll be back there and angrier than ever!

There are a few going to state that did not place at Al Smith too.

It’s been a pleasure as a fan to watch you. I want to thank you for what you’ve contributed to Indiana wrestling and want to remind you that you are still a champion day in and day out regardless of how this season may have ended for you. You’ve got some of the greatest coaches in your corner who I know do a great job in not only making great wrestlers, but helping mold fine young men for society to have. So, I know without a doubt you’ll be one of those people we see down the line doing great things in life. I wish you the best and absolute good fortune in your next steps.

I do not know how you beat this one... they met under the lights in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Eppert won the title at 103 in 2007 and at 119 in 2009 - Wright took the title at 112 in 2008. Three years in a row the same two guys met under the lights. The two also met in the finals of the Regional and Semi-State each of those three years, too. 

Steve Stahl from Elkhart Memorial in 2008. He lost to Ryan Konrath of Jimtown in the finals of sectional, regionals, and semi-state. At State, Konrath was beat by Mark Shrewsbury of Crown Point in the quarter finals. Stahl beat Shrewsbury 2-1 in the championship match.
