Crown Point over Brownsburg
Regionrat1 and one other reacted to NW Indiana Wrestling Fan for a topic
Crown Point wins the Carnahan Tourney Beating Brownsburg 316-312. CP had a lot of upsets proving how good they are or should be #1. Roberson over Montgomery 5-1, and Hollendonner over Asbury 5-3 were the biggest upsets. Great day to be a dog.. from the region. CP all looked very well conditioned2 points -
Crown Point over Brownsburg
sstark reacted to Clan Campbell for a topic
Agree, Crown Point looks good and they certainly out wrestled Brownsburg at 126 and 160. Junior looked great and totally controlled Montgomery. Would like to have seen how things would've turned out with both teams being complete, Crown Point at 138 and Brownsburg's absence at 170. Was really looking forward to that potential 138 finals match, but disappointed when brackets came out yesterday. That 106 match was awesome, and that 120 match was pretty good too with Diaz. Was surprised to see how competitive 145 finals was and that 8th seed 182 champ coming through and winning was rewarding, as was that 220 lb freshman champ that I thought I read where his defeat was being anticipated by CP fans during the week. Overall, congrats to a hard fought win on CPs team tonight, was a back and forth battle that definitely played out differently than both sides expected at many of the wt classes; it kept the fans energized, and the format of the finals under the spotlight in this energized environment made for a great experience for all.1 point -

Good forum @navy80 Interesting stuff here!!1 point

I'm shocked how many people are tweeting things about the referee's "mistake," suggesting you can't be in control and lose by pin. Control is needed for near fall, not a pin. It's a clear rule that is too often misunderstood by experienced coaches and wrestlers.1 point

Brackets haven't been released, so not sure what Nick Lee will have in potential R64 or R32 matches, but seeds are locked so we know as the #11 he gets #6 Jaydin Eierman in the round of 16. If he'd get the upset, he'd then have Olympian Frank Molinaro in the quarters and Jordan Oliver in the semi's. Talk about a big boy bracket! Wow! Boyd is the only other competitor from Indiana that's seeded. Her final seed ended up as a 7, so she'll have the very tough #2 Macey Kilty if she can get to the quarters. More detailed brackets for the 5 Indiana natives will be released this morning before wrestling starts.1 point

Southport vs Fishers in the Rankings
piscis1956 reacted to maligned for a topic
This is of course true to some extent, but results between two teams are usually very predictable when they've had 4 or 5 common opponents. If one team averaged 25 points more in point differential for 4 results like the ones listed in the first post, they will almost always win when the two teams meet. The only time this is not the case is when the team that consistently won the common opponent duals by lower margins has numerous very high-end kids and numerous very weak kids that ensure they win most duals while also ensuring lesser teams will take significant points from them.1 point -
2019 Henry Wilk Classic @ Penn High School
busstogate reacted to crosstownrivals for a topic
No we wrestle 5 matches on Saturday. We don't wrestle conference opponents or if teams already have a dual against each other. I sit down and give everyone the best five matches possible. Our goal is 16 teams and run it similar to Calumet. I have also run the scenario of 4 pools take all four 1st and group them in mini tournament, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Waiting on 16 teams!1 point -
