maligned
Others not mentioned recently: Conner Tolley is 3-2 in duals over the past couple weeks, falling to Billy Miller of Va Tech against the only opponent of much note. He picks up wins against Arizona St, Old Dominion, and VMI while also falling to Kent St. He almost certainly would be the #2 seed at 285 if the Southern Conference tournament were held right now. Cary Miller of App St., who beat Conner 7-5 and 11-0 last year, is the top dog at the moment and is ranked #26 on WrestleStat. As suspected before, All-American contender Heino of Campbell is redshirting, so Conner will be in the mix for qualifying for NCAAs. Nathan Boston stands at 12-10 on the year for Campbell. He got a pin against App St. in their dual this weekend. At Army, in addition to WrestleStat #22 Ben Harvey, Brad Laughlin is 16-8 with several wins over guys in the WrestleStat top 65, Cael McCormick is 12-6 with a 5-2 record in duals, Gunnar Larson is 2-4, and Colton Cummings is 3-4. Jose Diaz is 10-10 on the year as the starter for Franklin & Marshall. He's 3-3 in duals and 10-2 in matches outside WrestleStat's top 100. SWINfan
Nick Lee and Stevan Micic both wrestling at the same time... Micic absolutely punishes Luke Pletcher. Wins by major 14-1 Nick Lee does what he does and majors Nate Limmex 17-6 Edited January 26, 2019 by SWINfan 1prouddad

SWINfan
Don't look now but the Michigan - Ohio State match may very well come down to Mason Parris vs. Chase Singletary at the end. Right now, Michigan is ahead 10-9 with 5 matches to go. Each team is expected to win 2 with the 285 finale. Parris will have to avenge an earlier 16-9 loss to Singletary in an open tournament (Cleveland Open?) Back at Purdue, Dylan Lydy wrestles Mark Hall tough but drops a 6-2 decision. Jacob Aven drops a major decision to Anthony Cassar and Penn State wins the dual 30-10. Edited January 26, 2019 by SWINfan

SWINfan
Thanks for picking me up. I had to step into the other room and paused the TV, so I was about 8 minutes behind. That was a HUGE win for Mason, sealing the Michigan win over that team from Ohio!
1prouddad
Yeah even bigger for Mason as he avenged his Nov loss to him by a score of 15-9. SWINfan

FCFIGHTER170
Parris is such a freaking stud! The savvy as a true freshman to avenge a loss to win it all for his team was unreal.. we couldn't ask for a better representative for indiana to rep us.. how cool is it watching 2 indiana legends dominate and gut out great wins over the mighty OSU! and next year there will be at least 3 Indiana legends representing! SIACfan
Micic is looking super strong this year. With Seth Gross out for the year, I believe we are going to see an Indiana native taking home the 133 title. Parris is looking very good but Steveson has looked like a monster thus far. IMO HWY is his to lose. Parris is looking like AA is in his very near future. Nick Lee, Chad Red & Dylan Lydy all have good chances at AA as well. Can Drew Hughes make some noise? How about any other Indiana natives with AA chances?

I'd go with the following: Micic - think he'll win it all.... 99.6% he'll AA Lee - 87.8% he will AA; 46.2% he'll finish top 4 Parris - 67.8% he will AA; 32.3% he'll finish top 4 Red - 44.1% he will AA Lydy - 19.4% he will AA Harvey - 15.6% he will AA IU89
SWINfan
Lucas Davison stepped over into Freestyle at the Dave Schultz Memorial today and finished 3rd. The field was only 7 wrestlers, but Lucas went 3-1 on the day.
The Guru
Thoughts: Chad Red doesn't appear to be improving at all and has lost to every significant opponent this year. It appears to be only a matter of time until IU passes Purdue up. Angel has brought a totally different vibe. There's still a lot of straight on offense and guys struggling to create action, but I can see a definite change in the program. Micic looks like a champion to me. Poised and calm, he's straight up wrecking guys. He's on a Hodge type trajectory. He's 9-0 with 2 Falls, 2 TF, 3 Majors. The way he broke Pletcher was impressive. SWINfan
A few other results from around the weekend of Jan 25-27... Michigan State @174 Drew Hughes went 2-0 this weekend with a fall against Maryland and a 4-3 win against Rutgers, Nebraska Chad Red dropped a 4-3 TB1 decision to Michael Carr of Illinois. Red, leading 2-1 got his 2nd stall call and gave up a point inside a minute to go to take the match to SV. He was doing everything he could to not get taken down and was on his heels. In the first :30 of TB1, Red gave up another stall point when Carr got to his feet and Chad hung on but couldn't return him to the mat, then Carr got the escape a few seconds later. Would have definitely been better off letting him go rather than giving up both points. In the 2nd :30 of TB1, Carr did the same thing and got a stall warning, but it was his first. Red finally broke free with about :07 left but it was too late to do anything and Carr won 4-3. Lots of great scrambles and a great job by Chad to avoid a single leg takedown in the 2nd period, I believe. Small Schools Connor Tolley of Chattanooga picked up a 5-3 win against Davidson. Kyle Jolas of Lindenwood wins 7-3 against Newman College Kobe Woods of Wartburg drops a 13-3 decision against Coe College
