littlevito
That is your fault for not getting 11 through. You are right, Cause 10 through still isn't good enough to qualify for next year's 2A Team State.

AJ
You are right, Cause 10 through still isn't good enough to qualify for next year's 2A Team State. With the multiplier system, the key is getting them to the ticket round at semistate. If Bellmont gets the majority of their guys to the ticket round then they will qualify easily for the team series.
aoberlin
I get asked all the time why I think Bellmont is successful every year. And here is my opinion. It is for 4 reasons. 1. Great coaching from top to bottom. (Consistent in what they coach) 2. The school has pride in the program. 3. Tradition 4. Their attitude of expecting to win or at least compete no matter what level of competition they go against. (Strength of schedule matters) Number 2 and 3 go together to result in kids not dropping out of the program because they didn't make varsity or they may not be doing as good as they hoped. This results with really good wrestlers in JV. It happens all the time that a wrestler was JV last year and a State Qualifier this year. This system does not account for that and can't. I realize it is supposedly the best we can do. But in all honesty if we can't somehow account for this it is truly not going to work. Sorry but I believe this somehow needs to moved to the end of the season and go off the last of the rankings in order for it to truly be representative. Otherwise you are just slapping great programs in the face and it will turn on you sooner or later. This is just a short guys opinion.

munges
Bingo. I want to start by saying this is not an attack on the team state series. Yet we are using individual advancement to determine team success. This will never get you the best "teams" in the series. I think you will always crown the best team in the State that day! Yet it is like picking the March madness contestants for next year off of individual free throw and field goal percentages of the individual players. It will never tell you who the best teams are. Yet, unfortunately there will be teams that deserve to be there that are sitting on the sidelines. It is unfortunate, but until the IHSAA decides this tournament can be run after the individual state tourney it is what it is.

Smooth34
I want to start by saying this is not an attack on the team state series. We don't have a team state series anymore. We have a regular season team tournament with a champion at the end. We only have one state championship team and unfortunately that's who the IHSAA crowns at the conclusion of the individual state series. Hopefully, the IHSAA sees the success of the IHSWCA-run team event and decides to bring it back. Kudos to the IHSWCA for this though. Something is better than nothing. Kang
I'm honestly baffled at the fact that you people underestimate kyle! He works hard and I'm pretty sure after this week of practice there isn't a kid there that would beat him, it might be close but I know he will come out with the win ;D ;D

He works hard and I'm pretty sure after this week of practice there isn't a kid there that would beat him, it might be close but I know he will come out with the win ;D ;D Kyle has been the main problem for this board, this state, and this whole god-blessed sport. I am pretty sure he needs all the practice time he can get and then some. Heck, why not keep talking about him, so that people will read his name everyday and create a false image of improvement. Who's this Kyle we are talking about anyways?

busstogate
Kyle Jolas, and he would be my pick at 160. Oh, of course, he is a tough SOG. I was assuming it could be him, but with no quotes, and no mention of a "kyle" for about 20 posts prior, I was confused, especially by the "gimme some respect" vibe. Jolas has the respect of anyone who has ever seen him wrestle, which makes the post preceding mine even more absurd than my own.
Caleb Spires
I actually think Kang was referring to Kyle Anguiano. Jolas is pretty established and could be a long-shot dark horse for a state championship.
