navy80
I can almost assure everyone that Blackwell will take this match by 5 points or more Blackwell will get to wrestler a former Indiana state champ at the KY state finals. I am pretty sure Boston is at his weight.

FormerHornet
Based on the rankings in each weight class is it safe to assume this is a two team race EMD and Union County? If it is a two team race is Union County the team to beat this year or is it still EMD? Don't know much about Kentucky wrestling but I have heard that Ervin is a stud. indyshred
Yeah Ervin is a STUD. Kentucky wrestling is not near as deep as Indiana, however the teams that show up at the Classic are extremely tough. Trinity always has some national caliber kids, UC always seems to have some Ervin boys, and St. X is tough.

If it is a two team race is Union County the team to beat this year or is it still EMD? Don't know much about Kentucky wrestling but I have heard that Ervin is a stud. Franklin is loaded...if it's a two-team race, it will be between EMD and Franklin (Frankling is Indianamat #4, IHSWCA #6). UC isn't quite on EMD's level despite having some legitimate studs. As others have said, Kentucky wrestling isn't nearly as deep as Indiana, so the rankings are a tad misleading. UC and Trinity, at their best in past years, would potentially be strong enough to be ranked in Indiana as a team--but definitely a tier below our top 5-10 teams. So EMD and Franklin are the teams to watch in terms of bringing home the team title at this tournament. That's good to know.
Toe the Line
i wouldn't count new pal out that fast boys!!!! just saying their dual scores have been awfully impressive and they can't be winning with shut outs without some studs!!!!

phscoach
Looks like the upper weights could be the deciding factors. All four seem to be loaded low, but maybe a little less well known in different spots in the upper weights.
navy80
Mater Dei has never lost at their own classic (to my knowledge) and out of all the years I have been following this tournament I could see them losing this year.
hdwork
MD wins it again this year the kids just dont give up the extra points if they lose, the team is hard to beat. UC will compete w/ Blackwell, Carr and the Ervin's. Kreich and Gabe Ervin will be a good match also.

UC will compete w/ Blackwell, Carr and the Ervin's. Kreich and Gabe Ervin will be a good match also. If MD uses the same line up they did at Castle this weekend, UC will finish strong. MD is not nearly as deep as I remember. UC is impressive top to bottom. If Bloomington South and UC were to square off, I would have to go with UC. bluegraypanther
I look for much better from individuals on Mater Dei. They have had a few weeks to right the ship and get the football players involved after a long season. Dont ever write that team and its coaches off. stanton14
Brown at 195 from Evansville Memorial is a possible.... May be having his wisdom teeth pulled that week. He finished 3-0 at 2A Team State, all pins. He is currently 18-4. He came down from 220+ in football and was week the first part of the season. Losses where from Lane of Evansville by 1 point, Zionsville by 1 point, Siliga at 195 by TF in the 2nd period, and one other by 2 points(I cannot remember who).....11-0 since facing Mich Siliga at the Westfiled Invitational.
