  1. If my aunt had balls she would be my uncle. ???
  2. After Reitz giving Mater Dei a few fits over the last 5-6 years it appears Mater Dei is on the verge of becoming the best team in the state again this year. I have watched a few of the incoming freshman wrestle over the last 10 years and they are very deserving of the hoopla they are getting on these boards. I know Reitz has 3 or 4 good kids coming back this year but overall they are going to struggle to compete in the SIAC as a team. I think they have just enough fire power to defend their Sectional Title at Castle but this years thunder will follow the Mater Dei squad of kids. I cant wait for this season to start.
  3. Yes they did...and I am not complaining. They also happen to join Reitz in beating Mater Dei. ;D Now that its over I can jump ship next year and root for my nephew who just so happens to be in Mater Deis feeder program. Perfect timing.
  4. I defend Mater Dei and Reitz because I have family from BOTH. They keep score at ALL the tournaments and Reitz beat them at semi state. Its not a comparison. Its a fact. Go back to your Castle High hole and stop pretending your a fan of anything let alone panther.
  5. 2 Champions - 126 and 145. There are some wild cards in there as well if they catch fire. Wildcards- 2 @106, 2 @113, 2 @120, 1 @132, 1 @160, 1 @220 and 1 @hvw. Wildcards have the potential but not the popularity vote.
  6. I don't think its a coaching problem. Those coaches are doing the best with what they have which is a young team. The calvary is coming that will make Perry Meridian envious especially since they are home grown and not cherry picked!
  7. While I love it here in our hometown I agree with the Ford Center being uneconomical for families.
  8. About Reitz leaving Central because they couldn't beat Mater Dei. It was a huge disrespect to not only Reitz but to the other schools who are part of Castle Sectional. If semi state didn't count then why keep a score? I didn't say anything rude, inappropriate or disrespectful about Mater Dei. I congratulated Reitz. Well deserved congratulations for beating their talented west side counterparts.
  9. After hearing several comments by others about Reitz winning Castle Sectional I obviously am going to interject the fact Reitz beat them this weekend. Thats why they keep score.
  10. I observed Mater Dei taking 12 kids and only punching 2 tickets while Reitz took 6 and punched 3 tickets. I was stunned by the Ferguson match against Smith. Kuhn was a monster. Davis gave Lahue everything Lahue could take and almost broke through at the end. Wimpelberg wrestled with purpose and punched his ticket against a great wrestler. Congrats to Reitz for beating Mater Dei in the Semi State. I think beating them there more that solidified your teams Sectional accomplishment. P.S. Was that really Reitz High Schools Principal that sang the National Anthem? She was pretty darn good!
  11. Donnie Baker was predicting 14 this morning right before the monster truck show!
  12. Mathematically speaking...yes...in the wrestling world...nothing is sure.
  13. I agree. Ferguson, Kuhn and Davis are all Regional Champions too. Smith is a great wrestler but does he have the day in and day out battles that Ferguson has? We will see Saturday.
  14. Agree but with Ferguson winning. Both are great wrestlers.
  15. The kid goes everywhere and goes to several camps with top placers from schools in Ohio, Missouri and Iowa. I think he also traveled with team Indiana on a few occasions if I remember right not to mention his competition in his own wrestling room. Those matches out of state and the battles I am sure he has in the room will pay dividends for that match. It will be the match to watch at 106 no doubt but I dont see Smith winning it. Its just a shame this match isnt a semi final match instead of a ticket round.
  16. Its going to be a great match. I don't think Ferguson will lose and out of all the 106 matches this will be the most intense because of what's riding on it. But not in 100 years to I see Ferguson not punching this ticket because of the level of out of state competition he has wrestled.
  17. 106 no ticket punched by Ferguson? Never in a hundred years could I see that. Smith is a good wrestler but Ferguson has wrestled much better competition than him on the national level with great success. Should be a barn burner match!
  18. How often does all 4 make it out from one region at a weight? At 113 I could see that from Castle.
  19. I overheard there were 3 people sitting in the stands posting comments about a certain person that was mad at another certain person who perceived the truthful perception that this one fan was glad to be the parent of a wrestler that thought there was a conspiracy to tilt all the power to that one sectional because one of the coaches hated winning and wanted to bring in a better program to teach his kids a lesson. Thankfully the governing body agreed and decided to secretly move them without any dialog from certain people who would have wanted their secrets to become reality by perception.
  20. 106 Ferguson vs Smith is going to be exciting. I am obviously picking Ferguson simply because of the quality of his partners in the room. That's a monumental advantage this late in the season. Their 106-120 high skill level line up will be a key to their having a good practice week and most kids (minus Mater Dei) don't have that right now.
  21. Pantherfan/No Class, I was sitting within 25 feet of the entire MD Section and have several good friends from Mater Dei and a nephew in Mater Dei's feeder program. While talking to them not once did I hear anyone say anything about the new alignment. I also have a nephew by marriage that wrestles for Central and spent several hours in that group. Not one word from their entire section about the new alignment. There is a former Reitz wrestler that helps with the North program and while asking him how he was doing the only thing that didnt come up was the new alignment. And lastly, there is a former feeder league coach from Reitz who has a nephew that wrestles for Memorial. Guess what....while sitting in that section there was not a single word said about the new alignment. . The ONLY thing I can picture is you, bluebolt and electriceye sitting in the upper corner holding your own little miserable conversation about how Reitz moved while everyone else was watching some good wrestling. My point? Wrestling teams in southern Indiana and their members are a giant family of sorts and you are the crazy uncle.
  22. The only thing for sure is 113 is crazy. This guy beat that guy who lost to this guy.
  23. The only added pressure I could see is if he named them and gave a ridiculous score from which to win by. I think most wrestlers ignore these boards anyway and let mom and dad go here and make good and bad discussions. Mater Dei put 9 (right?) In the SIAC finals so predicting 12 to place in the top 4 isnt really earth shattering.
  24. False. They couldn't decide which planet would host the event.
