casualwrestlingfan got a reaction from AJ in Notable wins and upsets 12-8
Might be a loaded Sectional now. Defending champs Jay County, perennial champs Bellmont, occasional champ AC with Norwell coming back. Also the tough individuals of Bluffton, SA, & SW who bring decent squads some years.

Reported on so many levels. Love for Mason to become a gridiron Wolverine demolishing unworthy Bucknuts in The Game.

Be cool to see SA join AC and Bellmont with an individual champ.

I predict there will be wrestlers wearing the really ugly clown pants, Tonte will bust out a signature suit, and Michigan/Minnesota will like what they see after their recruits are done!

casualwrestlingfan got a reaction from Perseverance in Football vs Wrestling....risk/reward
Fully understand your concern and reasons. Your athletes on the football team a year ago were outstanding young men, and Im sure this year's team was the same. I think the question to ask is if your son looks back on his choice, will he regret doing or not doing whatever activity. Will he miss making memories on the gridiron or regret not putting more time into his craft on the mat. The good thing is neither is the wrong choice if he can live with the decision. Injuries are going to happen regardless of the sport. This accident prone guy knows all about that.

That's the problem with the IHSAA. Has to be secretive on every little thing it shouldn't. Transparency is the name of the game in today's world.

Miss that tournament. A lot of kids who were knocked out of the individual tournament became part of history by knocking off kids or just keeping losses to a decision.

Glad to see all 3 Adams County Schools are in this upcoming tournament. Makes it fun to see all the kids in the area compete for a shot at a title.

casualwrestlingfan reacted to swain358 in Class Wrestling - Potential Benefits
I know it will never happen, but I think it would help if teams could enter more than one kid per weight class into the sectional tournament. We lose very quality kids each year because they do not want to sit on the JV. Regional/semi state level kids that can't make the line up end up quitting rather than waiting for their shot on the varsity.

casualwrestlingfan got a reaction from rookie78 in Class Wrestling - Participation
I'm for keeping single class and adding multiple class wrestling for both the team duals and individual tournaments if the schedule could allow it. I'd treat the class individual tournament like Al Smith, Evansville, and etc. as a precursor to the single class individual tournament. I believe that the current class team dual has helped our AC program maintain and hopefully strengthen. Rarely will we have enough studs to overtake Bellmont for individual sectionals, so it was harder to get more kids to come out. When the IHSWCA came about and we had multiple top 2 to 4 finishes, I personally believe it helped gain more interest. Tony would be better to answer this, so I don't want to step on his toes on that aspect. As for single class team duals, I loved listening to our rivals Bellmont and the other power programs battle for the best team. So much tradition with Perry Meridian, Bloomington South, Mishawaka, Mater Dei, and others renewing rivalries.

Adams Central had a great season (wherever that school is). You should be proud of your kids. That zero points scored is very strong. I assure you that we will take your criticism to heart and get better. Thanks for your multiple post knocking our kids...... gesh!
#TheCounty
Adams Central is in the historically best wrestling county per capita in the state. (sent multiple this year from their tiny school) You could say the original "the county" long before hash tags were put on message boards by passionate parents.

Second this sentiment. I'll add that this is the best way to hear or see about all the local schools and not just one in particular.

casualwrestlingfan got a reaction from awood2 in Indiana's 'middle class' in wrestling
All know I'm a Classed and Single Class co-existing supporter for team and individual. The current schedule doesn't allow that. I also think that the larger schools should classify their Varsity/JV/Freshman/Mixed as A for the best, B for step below, C below that, and D for lowest. Many 3A and the top 2A teams could easily have A to C squads if not to D. Maybe classify them for own tournaments? Gets kids wrestling instead of watching just Varsity.

Should each school get two individuals at each weight class if possible for individual state?
