I may be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure that EMD got 11 through one year in the early part of this decade. I thought that was a record at the time. All 14 had qualified from Castle Regional and all 14 won first round at Seymour Semi-State. MD had 5 champs, 5 runnersup, and 1 3rd, with the other 3 losing in the ticket round. When was the last time they did not have a qualifier and when was the last time they did not have a placer? In 1982, EMD only had 1 person go and he did not place. It saw a series of 3 Griffith State Champs in a row Followed by first state champ from the tiny school of Turkey Run Then 4 EMD state champs in a row. That was also the year Craig Macke met Escobedo and Aaron Scott met Tsirtsis is the Semi-finals...or EMD would most likely have had 3 runner ups & 1 3rd placer, rather than the other way around.
