They have a hand in so many things

Everyone at new haven was solid from what I saw

Fact: All the LC wrestlers were originally seeded. 
Fact: IHSAA says they can't be seeded because LC wrestlers don't have 6 qualifying weigh ins. (Because of clerical error) Although we know darn well they weighed in. 
Fact: IHSAA decides not to punish the kids and imposes that all LC wrestlers are drawn into the 7 or 8 spot. Which in turn screws the entire sectional up and domino effects to the regional
Fact: The winter bulletin is worthless and contradicts itself. Wrestlers have to have 6 qualifying weigh ins in order to be entered in the tournament. Then later says wrestler without 6 qualifying weigh ins can't be seeded. 
Fact: The IHSAA will pick and choose which rules they want to follow. 
Fact: There isn't anyway to logically reason with the IHSAA. 

This is how it works and the coach will not be allowed to coach sectionals.

Oh you mean those passionate coaches that stand up and fight for the best seed for their kid? It is just horrible.  One day out of the year.  This stuff pisses me off. If we had true wrestle backs this would not be as big of a deal. But no we can't have that because the people in power like to show their power.  So if a kid gets a 4th seed when they should have been 2nd or 3rd his season can be over if the other sectional has 2 studs.  Ridiculous! But hey it is all about the kids.

Yes they will be out within the next night or two. Still trying to get together all the conference results and sift through each sectional to note any weight changes.

Why do we even seed then? Why take more than one wrestler from any level? Why wrestle for placement?  
Let's have a total of 4 wrestlers in each weight class at state and be done with it Friday night.

Here is another complaint -- and I raise this every year -- in the sectionals with > 8 teams several of the wrestlers are put into a "one-and-done" scenario.  If you are lucky enough to have a sectional with only 8 teams, then no matter what your record you are in double-elimination with a chance to wrestle back for 4th and a move to Regionals.
 
So, if you look at the sectionals with > 8 teams they have to seed the top 6 and then the rest are random draw.  However, since only 6 are seeded, that leaves 2 quarterfinal slots that are completely open.  In my opinion, the unseeded wrestlers should go there to battle it out with each other.  Instead, some sectionals do a complete random draw and place an unseeded wrestler against a top seed, while another unseeded wrestler lucks out and gets a bye in that empty quarterfinal slot.
 
Mooresville coaches have done it right -- the unseeded wrestlers are always paired up on those open slots and the #1 and #2 seeds always draw a bye to the quarterfinals.  Meanwhile, as an example in the Crawfordsville sectional at 182 there is unseeded Wrestler with 17-17 record who has drawn into a first round with the #2 seed.  If he loses, then he is done - no chance to wrestle back for 4th.  In the same bracket, a 12-23 wrestler gets a first round bye to the quarterfinals.  If he loses he still has a shot at wrestling back to move on.  I would like to see that 17-17 unseeded matched up against the 12-23 unseeded wrestler and give the #2 guy a bye.  That way at least both of the unseeded have a better shot to battle for that #3 or #4 finish and another weekend.  For some kids, that alone may make their entire season.

There is plenty of data and proof that it is beneficial for boys to be older in school than younger for physical and mental development. A real good read if you are interested (I doubt you are) is the book "Boys Adrift".  Since I have 3 boys I find this topic very interesting.  I just think if you are going to hold your child back it shouldbe before he even starts school. Personally I flunked the difficult grade of Kindergarten (reading readiness) and I was old for my grade because of that, but if I would not have been held back I would have weighed 85 pounds as a freshman. My freshman year I still only weighted 95 pounds.  Which would be why I will always fight for the little guy, I would like 103 to come back.

Gotta love the "I am a victim mentality".  One reason I don't push youth tournaments that hard because some of the same people blindly attacking people and organizations are in the corner for some kid showing everyone how not to act. I have always found if you have a problem take it directly to them in a professional manner and not in a off handed passive aggressive way.
