This is Jared's coach.  I would like to express my respect for Logan and how he handled the loss.  That's a tough loss to swallow, and he stayed composed and professional.  I know it meant a lot to Jared having Logan reach out, congratulate, and wish him luck.  I tell my wrestlers that losing is part of life, and wrestling can be a useful tool in preparing us how to handle and bounce back from our losses.  All of Princeton are proud of you, as well as the state of Indiana.  Approach life in the same way you approached wrestling, and you will succeed.  Good luck, Logan Miller.

In order for the IHSAA to consider a change in this they would need to accept that there is a flaw in our system.

Unfortunately I have seen this happen numerous times... However, I can't really think of a better way to have it done... If #2 goes out, then #3 and #4 are elevated, then the alternate is put in place...

This may work against a wrestler bumping up a spot, but it may also help that same wrestler as well depending on the scenario and draw...

Most cases I've witnessed, it has hurt one wrestler and helped another, but I don't believe there is a "fair" way other then bumping them up in the formula

Someone please tell the rest of the 120 guys left in the state to make sure they leave their head in the locker room so Dunn can’t get ahold of it.

That slam in the ticket round was bad. I hope the kid is ok and am appalled that people are booing that kid.

I chipped in and said in my almost 20 years this is one of the worst calls I’ve seen! So looks like combine us together it’s up to 50 years of combined wrestling watching.

Returning state runner up  Nick Hobbs of Beech Grove Friday night his senior year down 2 with 5 secs to go.. doesn't cut him instead, hits the cleanest tight waist tilt for 3 count and walks off like nothing even happened in the midst Cool guy manner I've ever seen..Hobbs never  hesitated to leave it all on the mat, cut Mauer in a tied match to let it all ride on his awesome offense and went out on his shield regardless.. Mauer had 3 of the greatest state finals matches I've ever seen..Dolly,Hobbs, And Newport all went to the wire with him.. That standing front flip Dolly hit to try and escape in sudden death was gnarly but ol Blake rode the storm out and kept one of Indianas finest Alex Dolly from never winning a state title..

Leroy Vega vs Greg Schaefer met 3 years in a row on Saturday.  1995 freshman Schaefer wins in semis, 1996 Vega hip toss in final seconds to win in the quarters.  1997 Vega wins in title match.  Schaefer wins as freshman and again as a senior.  Vega wins his final 2 years. They would go on to wrestle each other in college and sit in opposite corners as coaches.  Two of Indiana's best!  If someone has a video of any of these matches please post!

In my opinion. Coaches encouraging kids to do one sport only is the biggest issue to why participation in all sports is down.

It doesn't matter if random fans remember who a "champion" is. It matters to the kids that win and their schools. High school athletics should not be about the wins and losses, it NEEDS to be about building up great kids to be GREATER adults. More kids participating in wrestling or other sports will never be a bad thing. Right now our participation is on a sharp decline and we need to get it back to a solid level.

To what degree do we need to kill our sport to realize that this one true champion thing is detrimental to the sport? Do we have to lose 25 teams? 50 teams, 100? How many would open your eyes to an issue with participation in this sport?
