hook and half
If he beats Dakota Thacker this weekend at Bellmont, then I would be more inclined to believe this could happen. But I also think Mr. Kral and Mr. Johnson will have something to say about that. Kobe is a helluva an athlete and is learning by leaps and bounds, he might be one year away, but it's gonna be a fun 195 weight class this year either way. I hate to agree with panther vision, BUT... He is right. I got to see Kobe for the first time last weekend. The kid has tremendous upside. Very impressive.

I remember watching Kobe his first match last year . He was very raw to say the least . The strides he made in 1 year are insane and says a lot about his work ethic . If he can make the same gains in another year . he will be very hard to beat next year .
Regionrat1
Is this Serious or Sarcasm? Coach P is da pied piper of wraslin. He made so many kids great wraslers that were non portage wraslers. A true believer of iron shaperns iron. Dead serious - if you ever watched him coach you would know.

maligned
I think Pendoski ending up in Indy metro stripped one heck of a resource from the Region. He is building a monster at Carmel as we speak. Fringe Top 20 this year...definitely moving higher the next couple years.
Regionrat1
Fringe Top 20 this year...definitely moving higher the next couple years. I know Ed is one of the best but coaching at Carmel is alittle different dan Portage. Some of his best wraslers came from south haven section of portage. DA cost of real estate is little different. Some pretty mean tough hillbilly boys from south haven. It will be interestin to see hoe it works out.

matts
Say all you want about the economic conditions of Carmel and its kids not being tough, but that school wins state championships (including BB and Football). If Indiana had been in it's current format, Carmel would of won a state title in wrestling in 1997. It is only a matter of time before Coach P's teams are going to be incredibly scary. ________________________________________ STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS Boys' Basketball - 1977, 2012, 2013 Boys' Cross Country - 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1987, 1988, 1993, 1996, 2008, 2012, 2013 Football - 1978, 1980, 1981, 1986, 1989, 2007, 2011 Boys' Golf - 1970, 1971, 1982, 1989, 1990 Boys' Soccer - 1985, 1987, 1991, 2006 Boys' Swimming - 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2011, 2012 Boys' Tennis - 1980, 1981, 1987, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2011, 2012 Boys' Track - 2000 Girls' Basketball - 2008 Girls' Cross Country - 1982, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 Girls' Golf - 1980, 2013 Girls' Soccer - 1984, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2011 Softball - 1994, 2011 Girls' Swimming - 1981, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 *27 consecutive state championships (1986-present) which is longest active state championship streak in the nation in any sport. DuneFan
I was wondering how Carmel could be so dominant in girls swimming. I found out that they recruit from all over the state from what they see in AAU swimming. Crown Point has a couple of girls that were approached by Carmel and thankfully they didn't accept their offer.
