Just a question randall, what was you justification for having Konerding 6th at 182

Won his regional but lost to a 4 who lost the next round at last years semi-state.  I was hoping to get more information on his matches with Bassemier of Matre Dei in order to place him better since Bassemier got 3rd and he got 1st out of that regional.

At regional last year Konerding beat Bassemier 7-2.

113 is brutal

126 is tough

138 is ridiculous

I would see it as this at 113 and if i was a mother of these kids I would worry. It is that brutal of a weight class this year. Throw in Red at State and it gets more silly.

1.  Brock Hudkins, 10, Danville

2.  DJ Smith, 12, Franklin Comm

3.  Tyler Fergusen, 10, Evan Reitz

I agree with 1 and 2. I'd put them both over Brown, but I'd put Brown over Ferguson.

And then the preseason open happened, and Ferguson should definitely do better than 4th.

What weight will Ruddick be?  He was 45 last year and it looks as if he has wrestled 152 this offseason.  Do you expect him to be back at 145 next year?

Based on my assessment of him I expect him to be at 145. :)

It should go a little closer to

113

1. DJ Smith

2. Hudkins

3.  Ferguson

4. Brown

120

1. Bailey Lahue

2. Elliot Molloy

3. Nathan Schitter

IMO this will be a little closer. That's still assuming DJ will be 113 instead of 120. Which could happen either way I believe.

Also, I think Devin Broukal will probably end up at 138 and Skyler Lykins may be 145. Just my predictions.

Look for Ferguson to tear it up though. Especially after the show he put on at IHPO.

Smith is 120 at the Super 32, so it's likely that he'll be there for the season.

Anyone have some updates on kids weights based on preseason tournaments?

At this point it is safe to say that many wrestling are probably wrestling up one weight class for these preseason events, compared to where they expect to be during the season.  So other than going by what they claim they will be going during the season, it maybe a little too early to determine their weights based on pre-season events.  Some will get down to their optimal competition weight before the first meet of the year, while other (due to Weight Management Guidelines) won't even be down to their optimal weight until a portion of the season is complete. I'm guessing a few kids could be pointed out for making a major jump in weight, but it would still be a good amount of speculation to determine where they will end up.
