Are you sure that the injured wrestlers coach did not default the match before the end of the 2 minute recovery time expired?

No overturning of the call is needed. The NFHS Wresting Casebook and Manual states : When the match is defaulted by either the coach or the wrestler, this terminates the match and no additional wrestling can take place.

Forzley was not the returning regional champ. The year before he lost to McDaniel from Tecumseh at regional. He placed 3rd at regional as a junior and 4th at semistate. The next year was his senior year when he was pinned by Jake Burden from South Spencer in the first round of regional.

There is a rule that determines which wrestler goes into the 6th seed if there is a seeded wrestler that is replaced with a forfeit. So no need to determine who the 7th seed would have been.

Goins may pin Valenciano in first period as you said. We never know what we will get with Valenciano.

Maybe. But Valenciano has won 2 of the 3 times they have wrestled. They split matches last year and With Valenciano winning in overtime and Goines winning with a 2nd period pin. This year Valenciano won with a 3rd period pin. If Valenciano did not get the pin he would have been leading the match 8-2.

No. That is not how it works. Each quarter of the bracket will have a 1st place from one regional, a 2nd place from another regional, a 3rd place from a 3rd regional, and a 4th place from a 4th regional. No wrestler is 1st overall or 6th or 8th overall. It is not seeded like the regional it is just placement onto the bracket based on your placement at regional. Your daughter was never 6th and is not now 8th in the bracket. Those places do not exist. It does look like there must have been a regional that only had 2 wrestlers at 110lbs and your daughter got moved up from her 4th place line to a 3rd place line. So she would have been wrestling a regional champion but now she is wrestling a girl that placed 2nd at regional.

I looked at the video. It looks like the wrestler completed the move to earn the reversal before the buzzer went off. The ref awarded the points just after the buzzer. To count only the wrestler has to beat the buzzer, not the ref.

How are you going to determine which 128 teams get into your four 32 man qualifier tournaments? What about the other 191 teams you have left out?

Robert Faulkens is the assistant commissioner for the IHSAA in charge of wrestling. He said we will stay on the present 14 until 23'-24' and then change to the new 14 NFHS weight classes.

The questions raised in this the Evansville semi-state was about how the Evansville semistate guys stack up against each other. Please type very slowly and explain how the guy from Fort Wayne would figure into that semi-state ranking.

I got all that. My point was why, in a thread about the Evansville semi-state, when comparing the Evansville semi-state 182lbers he would bring up a guy from FW Snider.

Well this is the Evansville Semi-State rankings thread. I don't see why he thinks anyone was focused on the wrong guy at 182 in a thread about the Evansville semi-state if he was referring to Veazy. Unless the IHSAA moved Fort Wayne Snider to the Evansville semi-state or Veazy has transferred to another school.
