Good perspective.. I'd like to know the most D1 kids from one team. Not even D1 but the team with the most kids who wrestled in college.
Perry Meridian has a lot of guys killing it at Marian for coach Bradley
-
Are 8th graders wrestling in the event? I saw Braylon Reynolds won Indy nationals and is listed in the field
-
I asked this question last week
mauer Ohio state
coughlin indiana
did anyone else from the Mater Dei teams wrestle in college
CP is running out teams with
mendez Ohio state
tattini Duke
Frazier VA tech
Bahl IU
Goin IU
Cruz Purdue
that’s at least 6 division 1 wrestlers in their line up
Rinehart I can see going D1, the Clark’s probably D1 football kids
line up the duals and see?
We can all be nostalgic but this is the best indiana has ever been and that’s coming from all of the National guys.
More guys will be recruited in indiana right now because of how good CP, Brownsburg and Center grove are

What's scary about this Crown Point team was that they weren't at full strength come tournament time.
132- Hawkins would have placed.
152- Rhinehart would have placed.
The difference in the old Mater Dei teams that I would consider is how Mater Dei, contrary to everyones belief, had Mater Dei kids on the team. CP has kids from other schools. I won't say the dreaded R word because now it's open enrollment and kids can go wherever they choose.
If you are talking about a pure home based Indiana team, it's 2003 Mater Dei. If you are talking about the best team in Indiana history, it's 2022 or 2023 Crown Point.
Define home raised talent?
besides Rinehart who was not trained by Hawkins and Sessa?

AHHHH I got to get used to them.
175- Veazy
190- Henry- I think??
215- Clark
285- Clark
What are the chances 220 Clark gains weight and has to wrestle off his brother for a varsity spot!?!?
I think he was under 220
but there is another set of Clark’s in 8th grade and one is currently 220 so there will be a Clark vs clark wrestle off

I am now a fan of Gunner after seeing him go to Indy Nationals the day after state and winning it.
They have wrestled twice recently. Gunner won both. Freestyle is completely different but it won't be a blowout. Veazy and Gunner will hopefully be in different weight classes next year so they both get a title instead of one.
195 - GUNNER HENRY (RED COBRA WRESTLING ACADEMY) over DE`ALCAPON VEAZY (WARRIOR RTC) Dec 14-5
3rd Place Match - Gunner Henry (Brownsburg) 35-3 won by decision over De`Alcapon Veazy (Fort Wayne Snider) 35-6 (Dec 3-2)
Just imagine next year's 182-285
182- Veazy (Penola)
195- Henry (Mcconnell)
220- Clark (Kindred, Beck, Hinton, Johnson)
285- Clark
And the new weight classes
175-190-215-285

My lock for next year is Veazy.
What if veazy and gunner are the same weight

All the starred teams on the leaderboard have one additional starter back from injury or transfer situations.
Does it take away from points that were in that same weight?
does a team like CP get double points for Evan Cruz(jr) at 138 then Kaptur(jr) qualify for semi state at 38?
Honest question not complaining

Perry has 13 returning starters?
-
I love that he went out wrestled Indy nationals dude loves to wrestle

Schaefers at 113 and 120 next year. Should be considered for high podium placements
Agreed Isaiah match with Jackson Saturday morning was awesome

106 I think Dickman bburg and Rouix could still be in the mix at 106 I know they were smaller coming in to high school.
possible impact freshman Jensen Boyd
113- Ayden Bollinger moving up a weigh a returning 3rd placer could be a strong favorite. If Dickman moves up a weight I would think he is the favorite
120- returning Champ Larocca I would guess is the favorite, Gavin Jendreas has a win over Larocca at Al
smith and Preston Haines has been under the lights it will be interesting to see if Hockaday stays 120 and hunts another champ
126- Jake Hockaday 2x champ moving up a weight took out a 2x champ I would guess he will be towards the top of the pound for pound
dark horse Incoming Freshman Clinton Shepherd has been wrestling well and wrestled Jake tough at IHPO
132- could be an exciting weight. Exciting Freshman Tylin Thrine undefeated would be the favorite but 2 incoming freshman have Wins over Thrine
Evan Stanley Lowell is tough and Angelo Vargo is equally as explosive as Thrine
Thrine and Freshman stud Haines had a wild match in the quarters 9-8 could be good
138- Brady Ison is the runner up and lost some tight matches to Buttler and has a win over Leavell who is a 2x 3rd and a champ I would guess those 2 would be the favorite
dark horse Landon Hawkins gotta get on the mat but the talent is there and has won a lot of big matches
144- Reece Courtney and Jeffery Huyvaert was a great match in the semis and could be under the lights
dark Horse Parker Reynolds Parker is tough split with Courtney has some injuries at the end but I wouldn’t count Parker out
150- Wyatt Kresja had 1 loss and ran to the lights. Dude is tough Graham will be in the mix I would guess some of the 38’s will grow my guess would be Major157- 3 semi finalist return at 152 May, Betz and Brabender. May has had an incredible year and wrestled Lowery tough I would say he is the favorite Betz and barbender have improved every year.
165- Brenton Russall is the only returning medalist at 160 he will be in the mix. I wouldn’t sleep on Beck the freshman from Rochester gave Goin the toughest match of the weekend
now the weights get really weird
174- Hobart Aiden Costellos last 2 losses were Ruhlman and goodwin the finalist. He has a :34 second pin against cashman who was in the semis and split with Harden the freshman from cathedral but I could see Harden growing out of the weight possibly a healthy Noah Clouser
2 Dark horses I think this will be the weight Nationally Ranked Anthony Rinehart will fall I think he will have a good summer and incoming freshman Rojas Brownsburg will be really tough there I think he will be in the mix
190- It will be Veazys weight to lose Penolas jump from sophomore year to junior year was amazing does he make another big jump and win a title. Weems and Freeman really looked great as sophomore and freshman.
Dark horse Brewer had a hicup Friday night but had multiple wins over weems and might get a great partner to work with every day215
Will Clark is the retuning champ and ran the gauntlet. The shocker of the weekend Cole Chicoine the pride of the logansport regional is returning and I would Guess 195 runner up Mcconell will be in the mix also Gunnar Henry who has a nice rivalry with Will Clark
Kendrix puts in a ton of work over the summer and will look to contend
285 Paul Clark had a barn burner in the semis with Jones and only lost to jones in indiana. He will try to match his brother
McNutt is fast and strong he will continue to grow in to the weight and look to get under the lights with Clark.

I do think Penn can be better next year. I think adding Harper and Vargo both who I think can medal as freshman helps. Bennett, Harper, Denton and Hollyfield are a strong strong senior class. I think all 4 are possibly medal hopefully they can avoid the injury bug.
Vinny Freeman medaling at 182 can be in the mix but for a title will need to continue to develop and possibly miss Veazy
everybody should be excited about their chances next year but also don’t count out the Cavemen

A great recap by Indianamat message board legend @TysonNisley Tyson gives great previews and the times added him to their coverage!

I didn’t mention crown point at all but thanks.
What about Perry 2011-13 then? Winfield, lecount, massengale, Johnson’s, warrens?, lecount, cooper maybe too? I am sure there’s more.
Cathedral from like 2016-21? Seltzer, slivka, rodgers, mosconi, melloh, guhls?, corsaro, Bernard.
Mater Dei- from like beginning of time to idk when? Lol Lee brothers are all at Penn state I’d say that’s pretty good I’ll just stop there for them.
All those guys wrestled at the next level. I’m sure I can get more names too. Idk what your tryin to prove here considering I didn’t mention CP at all and do respect them. Only questioned Center Grove being called a “dynasty” with 0 titles and just wanted to show love to other Indiana schools that really have been a massive constant for Indiana dominant talent.I am not arguing the greatness just asking about those squads
perry was stacked so was Catherdral.

How is center grove a dynasty with 0 team titles? No disrespect to them, they compete hard as hell, but cmon. And Indiana hasn’t had more dominant schools? Mater Dei, Perry, Penn, warren, cathedral might beg to differ lol
