I know of 4 people from my group that aren't going this year, so we only need to find the 1496 others. From all of the complaining on here and Facebook, it seems there might only be about 500 people showing up.

It’s pretty pathetic when an official flips his disk and can’t bend over to get it then asks a wrestler to pick it up for him. 

This begs the question- who actually hires the officials?   There was an official at a tournament yesterday that was so obese he could not get down on the mat to observe pins/back points/etc.    he kept calling pins while standing or on one knee.  I know we are short on officials but dang. 

Must be a freestyle or Greco ref that forgot how to ref folkstyle

If they don’t have pastor like this I don’t want it.

Castaneda Restaurant in Goshen, IN have the best al pastor (pork) tacos of any place in the state of Indiana that I've been to. They use el trompo (spinning top). However, The best steak tacos are at El Rosal in Elkhart, IN.

I think this would lead to a lot more challenges of was it a 3 count or 2 count, or a 4 count or 3 count from both sides of the mat. Not sure this adds anything other than more work for refs.
 
The 3 point takedown I keep going back and forth on. It will add more points, but in the end you get a higher reward, but also a HIGHER risk for everything.

If that is what is being proposed, then I'm OK with it. Not sure it is necessary but OK with it.
 
Hate the idea of doing away with the riding time point. What differentiates folkstyle from freestyle is mat wrestling. The ability to ride & escape are important. But I do like the idea of returning the wrestlers to their feet (with no escape point) if a turn has not been achieved after an allotted amount of time (I would prefer 1 minute).
 
I don't like the idea of 3 points for a takedown. It would allow freestyle wrestlers to ignore the mat wrestling portion of folkstyle. They would potentially be able to build an insurmountable lead simply by taking down & releasing their opponent. I like the uniqueness of folkstyle wrestling. Please don't create an environment where freestyle wrestlers can ignore mat wrestling in folkstyle.

As one who wants no part of the garden on his burger, I can absolutely relate!

I'm not a coffee guy either, Sweet tea!! And to Joe's burgers Preference, I can relate because I can't Stand when the raggedy ass lettuce has my burger and bun bumblin sliding and stumblin AROUND like the Marv and the wet bandits down McAllister's basement steps. 

Are we sure Whattaburger "meat" is actually meat? If you pin me as a veggie burger guy you probably should have your eyes examined.
 
Unfortunately I had to take the rabbit food off of my burger as they didn't make it correctly. 

The bigger surprise to me is Joe seems smart enough to me to just order the sandwich without all of that!  

And fwiw, it's beef that makes it a great burger.  The rest is just window dressing.  That said, if it had bacon and he took that off, THEN we'd have a hot topic!

We need clarification that the burger was actually meat. Sad we have to ask it, but he could have had one of those veggie burgers. 🙃

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Joe this past weekend during the NCAAs, and i remember seeing a thread about him and others rocking on Kyle Ayersman for taking the bacon off his breakfast. Well, Joe, myself and a couple of other guys went to Whataburger in Tulsa, and Joe starts taking the tomato, onions, and lettuce off his burger. the best ingredients that make it a great burger... I mean who does that?!?! haha

I want to personally apologize to Andy Oberlin from The Fort Wrestling Facility for the DM I sent him on the night after Semi-State.  I want to also apologize for insinuating Andy is biased.  I also would like to apologize to the entire forum for my coarse words.  I'm competitive but I don't want my competitive nature to alter my character.  I will do better going forward.

Here is a story that I felt was worth sharing with the community that involved Bryce, I don't generally like sharing stuff involving my kids, but felt he deserved credit for this.
My middle son (8 years old) had lost in the state semi-finals, and was not handling it very well. We were in the cafeteria wrestling area, and he was having a "freak-out" (he needs to work on this) in the area behind the mats. I was trying to talk to him to calm down, but he was not registering what dad/coach was saying.
While this was going on a high school kid was passing through and asked me if he could talk to him.  The high schooler sat down with my son, and told him about how he had never placed at ISWA until this weekend, and he had won it today. He discussed how wrestling isn't just about wins and losses, but about progress.  This discussion caused my son to calm down, stop crying, and go on to wrestle the rest of his matches and place third. As he left I asked the high school kid his name, he said Bryce Denton.  I told him I had heard of him lol.
Anyhow I was really impressed with the maturity and kindness that Bryce showed this weekend. I had never met him. As a dad I was worrying what people thought of me/my son with the way he was acting, and Bryce was awesome in helping to calm him down and put things in perspective.  Also in my opinion it took a lot of bravery to ask a dad that you had never met to talk with his son in a situation like that.  Just wanted to share this and publicly say thanks to Bryce.  I was blown away with how impressive he was in this situation.

Tickets are $30, face value, and are good for the entire weekend, section 224 row 26. I don't have pay-pal, venmo, cash-app, or anything like that.  Using the good old fashion gentleman's agree on cash.
