I am assuming this is referring to classing the individual state tournament?
I see several comments which appear to start to reference how the IHSAA state tournament could be even better. However, no real suggestions are made. Genuine question, “Go Bigger” how? Class the state tournament? Bigger venue? More qualifiers? Bigger drinks for the fans that pay $11 for a soda? Combine womens and mens tourney?
I say all of these thing with all due respect of course. Great article, just wanted to make sure I am interpreting it correctly.

I recently switched from xfinity to YouTubeTv and lost bally sports. As a Reds fan, this is a bummer.

I like the idea. However, it they didn’t do it for Nick Lee vs Chad Red who I believe were #1 and #2 in the country at that time (feel free to correct me if im wrong) I don’t think it is going to happen.

During freestyle months and summer time we get ohio kids in at The Fort Wrestling Facility and it makes for some great practices. We love Ohio or as my grandmother calls it, oh-hi-uh

Off track a little bit. Who were the two guys that beat angel at fargo?

No need for that, it is what it is. I'm just tired of seeing this throughout NE Indiana. Bellmont vs AC & SA, AC vs SA, and etc in person.
Like I mentioned, no one seems to have answers to my questions. I'm trying to get 3 steps ahead of my quest/far fetched dream. Feel not enough kids are doing off-season folkstyle work, let alone freestyle and Greco-Roman. I just have been exposed to folkstyle but little to 0 freestyle & Greco-Roman. Everything is basically from personal observations.
I am not sure if you want my opinion or not, just an average ol coach here. However, If i had to do a freestyle 101 breakdown for someone going into their first tourney I would focus on 3 things.
1.) work on hand fighting and outside singles. If you are going to attack high c style thats fine just make sure you rotate to a corner so you dont get crotch lifted. Knee pulls are awesome. You want finish high as much as possible. Get to your feet ASAP
2.) transition to a lock (leg lace or gut) on the way down to the mat after your takedown. Someone who is experienced in freestyle will “glue” their chest to the mat and while
not impossible, it is harder to get your hands locked once they get flat and start defending.
3.) be tough on bottom for 8-10 seconds and dont try hitting a standup had a friend try do this in his first ever freestyle tourney and get launched for 5

I was at middle school state qualifier yesterday. (Plymouth) This 5-8th grade group coming up from Fort Wayne and the Northeast Corner is nails. You pair that with the resurgence of the Peru/Maconaquah regional, Delta’s youth hammers, rochesters youth, etc. and I truly believe we have some bright years ahead as a semi state. (and some really fun days at the Coliseum for the fans)

Too many posts to scroll up so if they are already mentioned my apologies. I remember growing up and going to watch semi state and state and Elkhart Memorial brought a state champ or a finalist quite often. Corpe, Miller, Ianarelli, Stahl all stick out. Memorial is closed now but at one time they were nasty.

If the bracket gods are in bburg and cp’s favor, theres a real possibility bburg could get 7 and cp 9 in the finals. . . .

As a state can we still claim Gable?
I don’t see why not. Minnesota merely adopted the Gable. He was born in Indiana, moulded by it.

The Fort has something on the rise for sure, it is is going to completely change the Ft.Wayne area and our semi-state will reap the benefits. My guy @CoachDuke2.0 has been been telling me all about it. If anyone on here has elementary kids and are looking to get them into a club, I highly suggest you go see him at The Fort with all the other great coaches. Nick coached me in high school for a couple years, and I wish I had more time to learn from him.
Thank you for the kind words. Mon and Thurs 630-8 is a great environment. Carroll, homestead, EN, Leo, garret, prairie heights, dwenger, snider kids all in the building. When our middle schoolers are in its often 40-45 deep. Pull up. If you dont like it, you wont get your money back but you can have a popsicle!

Just an average coach here but id say anything where you are rotating or cutting the corner is good stuff. Head inside single or knee pull if you are trying to get to the back leg.
I would say people almost want you to shoot a traditional high c so they can set the corner on you and go crotch lift or barrel roll. Staying out front never seemed to work that well unless you just have super good defense.
just my thoughts.

Bburg Black Panther singlets get my vote for best of the weekend. Well done. Wakanda Forever.

Even without seeing the draws we know the following
-Jendreas will be on the same side as rioux or hockaday
-Bahl will be on the same side as ison or choeff
-Goodwin will be on the same side as law or conway
-Cruz will be on the same side as buchanan or henry
could they win all of those? Yes. Could they lose a few or all, yes. Regardless of how many they get to the finals i just dont see a scenario in which they lose. Them just pooping the bed doesn’t really seem likely with that coaching staff and schedule.
