As many of you know, my hometown of Pendleton was hit by a tornado this week. In spite of the tremendous damage there were no fatalities and only one injury which was, thankfully, not life threatening. While I love my hometown, the community I am referring to in the title is the Indiana Wrestling community. I have received numerous calls from wrestling coaches checking on my family's welfare and offering assistance. Coach Duncan and some of his Frankton Eagle wrestlers came down to help in the cleanup this week. I am profoundly grateful to have as rivals such friends who took the time to reach out. Our town will recover and be better than before, albeit without as many trees. The wrestling community will always be a source of strength and pride for me, like it is for all of you. Thank you all for your caring and concern. Local charities are accepting donations but if you are of a mind to contribute may I humbly recommend the Red Cross in your community. They were on the scene almost immediately after the storm and set up a relief center at the high school. I encountered another Red Cross team today during my visit to a site where some of our wrestlers will be working tomorrow to assist a local wrestling family. The RC volunteers assured me they would be in town until they help everyone get back on their feet. 

Wow... Cowan is 1 point out of vote in consideration and they are the only tam with 14 returners next year...

Chase Wilkerson has signed with UIndy to continue his wrestling career. Chase is the first wrestler in over a decade to sign to wrestle in college from Mt. Vernon (Fortville). He ends his HS career as the schools all time wins leader at 143. 

Seems pretty cut and dry to me:
B. The IHSAA copy of the sectional entry list is the official copy.
1. A wrestler entered on the official entry list may be entered in his/her listed weight class or in the class immediately above his/her listed weight class at the seeding meeting.
2. After the seeding meeting, no wrestler entered and seeded or placed by draw may change weight classes during the individual tournament.

I now coach in Louisiana. We travel to New Jersey, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia for tournaments. We miss a total of 4 days from these four tournaments. That truly isn't much at all. Let alone, at least change the rule so that teams can travel over Christmas break for holiday tournaments. That would be a good start.
By the way, we fundraise for all of our travels. If your team wants to travel, have them raise the money. That is a simple fix. I would venture to say that the teams all across the country that travel around the country are not having those expenses paid for by their school funds. I could be wrong though.

Well da ole rat finally broke down and subscribed to Flo wraslin.  Can't believe it took so long to get it. Bein a efficando of the great sport of wraslin Im in heaven. Watched wraslin all weekend. Being retired I do have a little more time on my hand. Especially since its cold outside - I ani't laying on da ground doin a brake job or ball joints. Side work slowed down a little - just in time for wraslin. So when da misses is watching grays anatomy or da voice da rat is watching Flo. You young bucks can learn a thing or two. 

Your opinions are weightless, and completely offensive.  Unless this conversation can be “classed”, it’s completely unfair and biased towards larger schools coaching staffs.  😜

Concur. I think what you guys (Fabio-OTR) are doing is visionary, seriously. That doesn't mean it will catch on but with the way today's millennial consumes their info/data via social media it seems that to grow the sport it is the thing to do. Let's face it, they aren't reading the papers or watching the 5pm WISH-tv news!!! It's kinda like the old tv commercial where the tag line was "they'll tell 2 friends"...take all the wrestlers' social media follower #'s, they post on their platforms so it goes out to "x" number more and maybe 5-10 of those "friends/follows" watch and get the bug to go watch/participate in an event and viola!! Sport grows. I hope it catches on for you guys. I think I see the vision and support what you're doing. I hope to be watching if I can figure out the technology as I'm an old crusty newspaper reader/tv news guy. Thanks.
