crosstownrivals
I was reading an article in the USA Today and the Indiana Pacers are in the top 4 of Sports teams in great financial trouble. So what would happen to Conseco Fieldhouse and the State Wrestling Championships? What another great lose we would have. First Team State (Thanks Mr. Cox) and now possibly losing our home to the the Sate Finals. Any thoughts?

aoberlin
I think good. All NBA teams should go bankrupt it is a worthless sport with a bunch of worthless overpaid althletes. But I am biased as all get out. (I'm short) It isn't going to matter they aren't going to tear Conseco down. Ownership may change and the name of it possibly but it will still be there and they will still probably take the money to host the IHSAA wrestling tournament there. Either way I hope all of the NBA goes under. Horrible role models anyways.
MattM
Pacers wanted the city to take over some of the financial responsibility for running some of there obligations. Not sure that went over very well with Indianapolis people though. Can't believe I wasted my 2000th on a Pacers comment. Dumb roundball.

jap1971
There is a new beautiful Ford Center in Evansville. Would be a great venue and I'm sure everyone would love to travel to Evansville. New bars downtown and the casino close by. What else could you want

What else could you want I know you were probably just kidding, but I'm guessing Everyone in the state, especially in the region, would just love to drive 4 hours to make it to the state finals in Evansville. I'm thinking maybe a bit more centrally located.
chambers
They have had the girls basketball finals in Fort Wayne the last two years. The IHSAA could put wrestling in Evansville.

rdrodd1
Southport was great, Market Square Arena was great and Conseco is a great place.....You could get rid of the Pacers and make Conseco a wrestling venue with huge tournaments every weekend along with Middle School State, Folkstyle State, Freestyle and Greco State and make as much money as the Pacers bring in.....Add in a couple of ping pong tournaments and there you have it....Other than that, the State Fair Grounds, Evansville and Fort Wayne would be great places to have it..... ILUV2PIN
I don't think that it would be possible in Indiana to use an old NBA arena as a wrestling only facility, especially since this state is "Known" for basketball :.

LoneSoldier
The Indiana Pacers are not going anywhere!! Im a season ticket holder an the team is on the rise. Now since the Pacers made the playoffs last year sales have gone up. The NBA owners have deeper pockets then you guys think. They are going to miss this whole season. Even if the Pacers did leave town the city would not tear Conseco down. There is to much stuff that goes on there. Mens Big Ten Basketball Championship, Concerts, Disney on Ice, an many other things. Plus there are many people that work there an the city would not let all those people lose there jobs.
jimmychitwood
Agreed, LoneSoldier. No way the Pacers go bankrupt/leave the city. Never going to happen. Also, why the hatred towards basketball? Is it not possible to like multiple sports? This whole tenet that wrestling is inherently more noble or superior to basketball makes me giggle. I'm a former wrestler, but college basketball is undoubtedly my favorite sport. Sacrilege, I know. I guess I am a bit of an iconoclast...
