Delineation between Varsity and JV is up to the Host. It would be on the contract the host school sends out. It is most important for sectional seeding as seeding is based on Varsity record. If the event is a Varsity event, then all matches wrestled at that event are Varsity matches. The exception would be the host site delegating a specific time/area for JV or Exhibition matches. 

Rule 60 governs wrestling. It does not speak to the number of athletes per team. It only speaks to the number of teams to discern between a dual meet and a tournament. You can check the bylaws online. I would assume the home site would determine the number of entries.

There is now a Girls open dates forum for girls events and matches. Please post openings and such there so that we have it all in one localized spot and not mixed in with our adventurous class wrestling discussions!

Are any weekend events planning to add Girls to the event? I would like my teams to mostly compete on the same schedule similar to track or swimming. If anyone is planning to add girls this year please post so teams can start to align their schedules. I am checking with my AD on an 11/5 individual event for Girls at Southport HS, but need to align some of the boys weekend events. 

I’ll just add this to show his character.  When we got in the back tunnel, we hugged.  Told him I loved him and was sorry it ended that way.  His response: “Coach, I’m really sorry.  I know the team needed my points today and next weekend”.   Was tough for me to hold it together to be honest. 

Don't know if anyone mentioned it, but we got our state's 2nd and 3rd girl state qualifiers in history, as expected. O'Campo with a fall and a major. Crull with a fall and a dominant decision. Great job, ladies!

Anfernee Oliver (Ben Davis) was getting worked by Alex Smith (Heritage Hills.  Down 8-1 he got a reversal near the end of the 2nd period, took down and got another reversal in the 3rd to make it 8-5 and then got the fall in the last minute to complete the comeback.

I think the entire Adams Central crowd during the finals vs Currie at Sectional this year think a little differently after those elbows went flying on restarts....

I get that, but our kid who is one of the best, nicest kids I’ve ever been around is being vilified on this board, and we’re just sticking up for our wrestler. 

I just disagree with blaming the ref for not calling potentially dangerous when the wrestler is the one that pushed it to illegal. In most situations a wrestler down 7-2 would be disappointed that a ref stopped their offensive move for potentially dangerous with 30 seconds left.

Come on, it’s a senior down in his last match trying to get a turn. It only got there cause no one was stopping him. Stop trying to act like AJ is the bad guy. 

Also avoided if the wrestler doesn't make the move illegal.

The Rooks/Garcia match was decided by a stall call. Ref threw up a BS double stall call early in the match. Goes to the ride out, and hits rooks for stalling in the final ride out.............. I didn't have a dog in that fight, but was extremely disappointed to see it decided by a ref.

Brownsburg is thrilled to announce that Mike Morgan will be joining our staff.  Mike has a very credentialed and successful coaching career.  He has been a part of 3 IHSAA State Championship teams and an IHSWCA State Championship team.  This year as acting Head Coach at Warren Central he guided the team to a 2nd place finish at Dual State, a top 10 finish at IHSAA State, and a runner-up finish at the Disney Duals.   We could not be more excited to welcome him to the Brownsburg Wrestling Family!

Congratulations to the 258 Freshmen and Sophomores who qualified for their IHSAA Semi-States ... of the 896 Semi-State spots.   
Good luck on Saturday at your respective IHSAA Semi-States.
 
They have been imported into the Indiana Frosh-Soph State Championship with a "3" Separation Criteria (similar to seed).  
These wrestlers are not permitted in the North or South Frosh-Soph Qualifiers.
 
Advancement to the Semi-State Quarter-Finals changes the Separation Criteria to "2", and State Qualifiers become a "1".   
 
Congrats in advance to any IHSAA State Place-winners ... they will be removed from the Frosh-Soph event.  Good luck to all.

I suggest the $24.95 option that gives you all 4 semi-states and the State Finals the next weekend.

Wait!!!... the AD is Ben Wissel? The same one that wrestled at Purdue and coached at Duke??? He’s the AD at New Castle? If that is him.... does he come in and wrestle? That dude is awesome. 

@Perseverance Eric Allred, met you back in 2007 at Muncie Pal Club as we introduce our sons into this great sport of wrestling. Our sons brought us together in many ways . I’ll always remember you as Big E, Coach Gonzales called you that many times . As Big E told me, “who would of ever thought 2 Fathers from The Mean Streets of Muncie would have 5 State Championships together” You will always be a inspiration to me & my Family. The wrestling community lost a great Man, Father, Husband & Friend .

I’ll add Perseverance was Eric, not only his screen name here but he lived his life as that word . Next time you hear the word Perseverance remember Eric Allred as it . Always was a fighter, he was born a Champion 😢.
