  1. IHSWCA Hall of Fame inductee Coach George "Giggy" Gardner passed away on March 24 in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Giggy was a talented wrestler at Lawrenceburg and after a stint in the United States Navy graduated from Northern Kentucky University.  He was a long-time teacher and coach at South Dearborn.  Giggy has a 359-150-1 record as a head wrestling coach at South Dearborn and was inducted into the IHSWCA Hall of Fame in 2022.

Visitation services for Giggy will be on Sunday, April 3 between 5:00-8:00 PM at South Dearborn High School gymnasium in Aurora, Indiana.

You believe Stuck will lose to Bragg, McGinley, or Edwards?  I don’t see that one at all.

I have the Irish as 5-6 point favorites, but Roncalli can definitely pull the upset.

I believe that Stuck will lose to Bragg.  If it is McGinley or Edwards, then Stuck should win.  You never know which Stuck will show up.

  3. The Circle City is not a very good wrestling conference but the marquee match will be at 152 between #5 Kody Glithero (Roncalli) versus #20 Eli  Bustamante (Bishop Chatard).  There will also be renewals of several old CYO rivalries with the best match at 182 between #10 Luke Hansen (Roncalli) versus unranked but very tough Tommy Hannon (Bishop Chatard).

  4. I would add David Palmer from Muncie South and Delta.  111-2 HS record with 3 State Titles and a runner-up finish as a freshman.  He was the first wrestler from Indiana to make the World Cup team and he was a World Champion in 1979 and National Champion in 1982.  He wrestled on the great Oklahoma teams in the early 1980's but his college career was curtained by injuries.

  5. I know that my Roncalli Royals (Rebels) won the Spartan Classic a few times in the past but they are now going to EMD instead.  Cathedral also dominated the Spartan Classic for several years prior to Roncalli.  I sure do miss watching Cathedral and Roncalli wrestle in the Spartan Bowl.  My family has been involved in running this tournament for 44 years and I have tried for years to get the administration to run the tournament on Track.  I believe that it could be run on Track since the cafeteria and hallway at the top of the Bowl has decent WiFi service.  Good luck to all of the teams!
