I'm not sure what the actual attendance was, but there had to be 2500 fans or more at the Bellmont - Adams Central Dual last night. They delayed the start of the JV matches by half an hour because of the long line of fans waiting to get in. It was a great atmosphere and the fans weren't disappointed. The teams split the matches 7-7 and Bellmont won on bonus points 38-32.  Thanks to Nat Bryan for taking this picture of the crowd.

Done posted once already on this topic, but got to thinking deeply, probably too deep.  I'm split on the best wrestler I've ever seen between two kids.  As a father, have to say the best is to see your child step out on that mat and compete, no matter the talent.  So, in the eye of this old man, the best wrestler I've seen is equally split between Drake and Griffin Campbell, who many of you would not know because they are not elite, but they are to me...

Blake Maurer really needs to be part of this conversation. His 03 finals match with Dolly was one of the best. Those guys went and left it all on the mat!

Back in the old days with the original team state tournament, was there any team that had a killer lineup but ended up just falling short? I've been told that the Griffith 03 team was the closest to winning a title with the guys they had like Alex Tsirtsis, Angel Escobedo, Andre Hernandez, Santana Adame, Jose Escobedo, and David Martin III. Is there any other team that had a lot of good individuals that never won?

Even dough they were paying well to train the youngins on how us a wrench along with bailing wire and chewing gum to keep the joint running. It amazes me dat the young ones don't know which end of a wrench to hold let alone figure chit on dare own. Well dat chapter is over for a while - day will have to double the pot to keep me. Can't get a person to work overtime- to busy plain video games on there off time.

In da mean time da rat put his shackles to work. Bought me a new ram 3500. No more Fords - I want a diesel. Bought a place in Florida - this way I can get away from da old lady.

So I will be keeping da rest of you updated on the the inner circle of the finest part of the state in wraslin.

Since no one else wants to give this guy his flowers I will.  Ethan Dodson helped lead The Snider Panthers to the 5A Football State Championship this year.  Along the way he earned All State honors as a top 50 player in the state. All this after he committed to compete for the Air Force Academy Falcons next year.  He's an excellent student so I'm certain he'll make Academic All State as well.

For those that don’t recall or never heard, Alex Tsirtsis was invited to the Midlands Tournament his senior year of HS. Something that had only occurred twice prior to that with Jimmy Carr and Cary Kolat being invited. Surprisingly the IHSAA even allowed him a rare waiver for him to compete there.  At that point The Midlands was clearly toughest in season college event in the nation.  He went 2-2 with both his loses coming by low scoring decisions against Top 10 seeded guys.  Solid results for a high schooler.

Mike "Beef" Faulkner was the living embodiment of a Mishawaka Caveman.  He represented the Mishawaka Wrestling program and the sport of wrestling with integrity and class throughout the State and beyond.  Mike was never shy about where he was from.  He loved the sport of wrestling and MHS and was an ambassador for both.
Before his passing Mike had shared his vision and a dream of his to have a bigger than life bronze Caveman Statue erected at Mishawaka High School.  Once completed no one will ever look at that statue without remembering all the contributions that Mike made to MHS and the sport of wrestling.

By donating through the link above to Mishawaka Wrestling we can all collectively donate as a wrestling family to fulfill Mike's vision.
All proceeds will be presented on behalf of Mishawaka Wrestling and the Indiana Wrestling Community on Saturday towards the vision and dream of Michael "Beef" Faulkner.

One of favorites that you don't have listed was the championship match in  98 between Josh Birge of Frankfort and John Labo of Vincennes Lincoln.  Birge won 15-12 and it was non stop fireworks between the two.
