95% of the time it would seem that the bad draw is drawing into an EMD wrestler as opposed to vice versa. I'm sure most everyone else in the state isn't happy to draw into an EMD wrestler. Especially, when it was the Lee factory for about 6-7 years. 
 
Which speaks to the greatness of said program.

Ahhhhhh.... The What “if” travel rule ... they’ll  let you go but you gotta get a waiver . Micic was giving permission to wrestle over seas one year I believe. Yes the travel restriction is dumb but it is what it is in Indiana, Michigan and a few other states . Don’t like it, take your kids to Ohio or Illinois or something to get that exposure if you feel IHSAA is holding them back .  ^^^^ ... what if I told you can wrestle out of state during IHSAA State ? 

If you were in the MD wrestling room in the 80's and 90's you would understand most Wildcats had the physical talent to compete at the D1 level but not the intellectual talent to go to a D1 school.  None of us became NASA scientist.

Crazy to think that if it wasn’t for Griffith, they may have had 7 champions, or at least 7 finalists

Yes!!! Perfect post from this dude! Going hard after his own teams fan base and alumni. Now he has insulted or pissed off 100 percent of the Indiana wrestling community. Dude is a savage. 

I wasn’t in the room but have a lot of buddies who were. I’d say the lack of D1’s stemmed from a lot of them being country boys who joined the family business. They had zero aspirations of college but would’ve excelled at wrestling if they chose that path.

How has no one mentioned Craig Macke??

If you look at EMD's success at the high school level dating back to the 90's until now, it still does not translate well at the college level. They've had numerous state champs and placers that did not make any noise at the next level. Lee and Coughlin are the exception, not the rule. Perry and Cathedral are in the same boat. I'm not knocking these programs, just highlighting the difficulty of having success at the next level, especially D1. 

Seltzer, Mendez, and Alred are the only locks this year

Goebel was 533-14-2 in his career at MD. I don’t have year by year but figured I’d post this just for those that were interested.

Don't you remember last year?  This is the time Boonville moms and dads appear here, make bold predictions, get offended when others pick their wrestlers to lose, etc.  After this weekend, they'll start to fade and after SS you won't hear from them again until next year around this time. Wash, rinse, repeat.
