All the time, energy and money spent assessing these moves could be better spent on other line items.  Setup some clear violations for extreme cases (athletes are being paid to play at another school, etc) and maybe investigate those

Otherwise, let the parents decide what is best for their kids

This reminds me of a great story back in 2015-16.  Yorktown had recruited Dru Berkible to come wrestle for them when he was in middle school.  Dru wrestled for Yorktown High School while living in the Frankton district during his freshman year.   After his freshman year he decided he wanted to come back to Frankton and wrestle for the district he lived in.  Yorktown did not like this so they refused to sign off on him.  Once again, He lived in the Frankton district the whole time.  The IHSAA got involved and still said no.  Now understand, Yorktown's had a history of non-district kids and convenient  move-ins (Jackson, Hunt, Curtis, Rutter, Walker, Carroll, Berkbile, Milius twins, Vanhorn....should I keep going???)  I can say that I even had one of these young men in class at the time and he explained to me that he had to use one of the assistant coach's rental addresses to become eligible however he was actually spending time traveling from his hometown and also spending most nights at other wrestlers houses for the year.  Oh man I could add so many more stories, however, back to the point.  Frankton was smart and used the help of a past Eagle wrestler who has since become a successful lawyer and took it to the IDOE.  News Flash...the IDOE does not like lawyers and granted him full and immediate eligibility that year.  It was a crazy time and one I had to scratch my head about because I had taught and coached football at Yorktown prior to coaching at Frankton.  Everyone knew what was going on.  Them not releasing him after all the kids they took away from other programs was ridiculous.  It was hotel Yorktown, where you could check in any time you wanted but could never check out.  In the end, however, Frankton won that battle.  Had this young man gotten the help of a lawyer, or maybe he did????, the outcome might have gone in his favor

On a side note, thankfully all the administrators and the coaches, except the principal, involved with all the recruiting and unethical behavior are long gone.  Yorktown has since hired a great young coach in Jacob Stephenson who is going to do things the right way and worry more about developing wrestlers and a program and less about his coaching record.

This is why the IHSAA needs to award multiple state champions by class. You can still have your overall top 2, but recognize those smaller schools scoring decent points at the state finals. They don't have the luxury to play this game of accepting or losing transfers like the big boys. It's really ruining the single class aspect of the sport.

Could be wrong about new, but Mr Oberlin is getting something up and running that is much needed for the area.

There are more people in suits than wrestlers and coaches on the floor. They took away the parade, doing this with medals, and they don't have cameras going this round on the jumbo screen. The IHSAA sucks.

We have Elkhart Co so why wouldn't we have Kosciusko? Miami and Howard are the outliers in geography. Guess maybe easier travel? It's never made sense as to how the SS have been drawn up since the last time.

I'm mostly the same, but I extend out some (Kosciusko, Madison, Henry, and Wayne Co outside the Ft Wayne SS). Any idea why Kosciusko goes to EC but Howard & Miami go to FW?

Not just us but the whole NE/EC Indiana region that goes through the FW SS. I follow a 20 county area for all sports. There are some counties that go to NC and EC but outside of Allred none of those counties have had much luck.

Just 2 finalists from the Ft Wayne SS. The once proud area that held it's own has saw some down times as of late. Can't wait to get that new facility up an running to turn things around! Pulling for both of these young men to get the job done!

All of the tickets for Saturday should have been allotted to the wrestlers - there are 112 of them left so if you give 20 tickets each then that is 2240 seats filled

I'd love to see Banker's Life packed with family - not fans (I am a fan, but will happily watch from home)

People scalping extra tickets for a profit - completely wrong.  This is not the wrestling community

These kids get sometimes only one chance to be on the big stage - should have let them give the tickets to friends and families and let them come along for the ride

I'm sure one or two schools got the jump on everyone else - way to go!  Sure, some long time wrestling fans will be sure to not break their streak of watching the championships - way to go!  Just know that you are denying family the opportunity to see their son or grandson wrestle

I actually enjoy that instead of the constant flow. Feels like you can miss so much when different classes are going at the same time.

This is ridiculous, but couldn't they have sent an allotment for each wrestler to the individual schools. Parents/guardians (4 tix of wrestler) would have one style of physical tickets or something and everyone else would have a different type of ticket.

You have to admit we should have wrestle backs to 3rd for the regional, semi state, and state finals. If you do it one round (sectional), then be consistent. What do I know though? I want to have 4 tournaments (classed and single class for both individual and team duals) and much more wrestling considering basketball gets a month more time than we do.

Hey IHSAA, time to use The Berne Witness for the Jay County Regional and Ft Wayne Semi State! Much better streaming. Why I didn't pay for it and just listened to WZBD. WZBD has been much better about not being just Bellmont focused. Should have gave the customers options if we were paying on which broadcast we wanted to pay for. I'd pay for The Berne Witness over Track. This area knows how to cover High School Wrestling! We have the only weekly High School Wrestling Radio Show in Indiana! Mr. Faulkner has even been a guest!
