rookie78 reacted to electricwrestler in 2lb allowance changes the minimum weight
Not understanding how the 2 lb allowance and additional allowances for missing practices due to school closures affect minimum weights is misunderstood by many coaches and refs, even though there is a very concise example in the rule book. Don't feel alone

I don't know, I guess Union City is in it. Must have some good team to be one of the better conferences in the state.

rookie78 reacted to TeamInjuryTime07 in Martin Cruz- Merrillville
I wanted to shout out and thank Martin for showing me that in addition to being a great wrestler he is a great young man. After Al Smith day 1 one of my wrestlers left his phone down by the scales on the ground. Martin found it and brought to me to return to my wrestler. As coaches we warn our kids about leaving valuable things unattended at a wrestling meet but if we had more people like this young man we wouldn’t have to worry.
Secondly congrats on an Al Smith title really enjoyed watching you in the finals and I am definitely a fan of yours both on and off the mat!

Negative consequences for resting starters who are sick?! Lmao you gotta be joking me! I pray McGinely (sp?) and crew never have to rest a few starters due to illness and lose. God forbid a kids health being more important then some local tournament win. But you wanna say they should drop in the rankings, lmao give cathedral the top spot. Brownsburg at full strength runs through that tourney like a hot knife through butter.

So in your drunk and bored rant you’re saying it’s a bad thing for a coach to hold on kids that are sick and place back ups? #1 or not, a wrestlers health is more important then winning a tourney or being ranked #1. Kudos to Snyder and his crew.
They say drunk thoughts speak the sober mind.

PH wrestling is a serious generational business, but it would not matter if the coaches, alum, and the school itself was not putting in the work every step of the way. They just seem to get better and better. It's a community investment.

rookie78 reacted to Y2CJ41 in Al Smith Predictions
I hope they don't stream it, I don't want my kids to get scouted.
If I had my way they wouldn't even let fans in to watch in case someone is there scouting.

At some point people need to grow up your gonna have film sent out about you regardless of who you are we get film of anyone we need. The lack of an archive is a travesty for people who couldn't see it live to see a hell of a tournament

In addition...
If you don't know Joey Walker 152 from Mishawaka you will soon. Sat out most of last year due to a football injury. Skipped football this year and focused on popping cans of whoopa$$ on the weekends!
Crossword puzzle clue: 6 letter word for hammer - Levitz 170 Prairie Heights. If you see a Levitz in a fight with a bear, help the bear.
195 & 220 will be fun to watch from the first match on Friday thru the final. Gonna be a gauntlet.
275... I am very curious - no love for the Blazer from Elkhart time will tell

Certainly within reason to expect even a day, but I just entered 50+ duals from Track that didn’t even make it from last weekend-some of them involving team state teams

Perry Meridian uses it. It works great. The wrestlers like it and it is easy to evaluate matches. Don’t have to fast forward to get to a score. Just click whatever score you want to look at and it goes right there. Keeps track of stats also.

Great system. We are on 2nd year with it. All video and stats done in real time and video is accessible for kids to view. Very worth the money for us. Any ipad or phone will work to record. Automatically synch stats with Trackwrestling.

rookie78 reacted to Coach McCormick in Thank You Louis Rosbottom
It is my understanding that Keith Davison is the new ISWA chairman. I first want to congratulate Keith on his new position and wish him the best of luck.
I would like to thank Louis Rosbottom for everything he, and his wife Sharon, have done for the ISWA over the years. Their dedication and devotion to Indiana wrestling is immeasurable. I had the privilege of sitting on the ISWA board of directors for roughly 8 years (a number of years ago) with the Rosbottom's. When you start looking at the ISWA's annual budget meeting, services, programs, the ISWA office, trips, coaches, tournament management, etc, etc, etc, the ISWA is a HUGE undertaking and the Rosbottom's have been a positive influence and driving force behind all of these operations for many years.
Thank you Louis for your servant leadership style of management. Indiana wrestling wouldn't be where it is today without everything you and Sharon have done with the ISWA.
Regards,
Trent McCormick
