maligned
Linked here are the procedures for qualification for next year's Team State event. The only rule change is the increase in the number of wrestlers required per team for classification consideration. It is now 7 instead of 3. Classification will be finalized after forfeit data are finalized this weekend. IHSWCA Team State Duals Qualification Procedures 2019.pdf

We have at least one completed version of all sectionals done, but we've got some cross-checking to do. As soon as we can cross-check 75% of sectionals with second versions that are coming in, we'll post something. Part of the issue, too, is that we have to be sure we've got all the forfeit data fully verified to ensure where all teams fall in their classes. Should be at least an unofficial scoreboard update posted later today (Tuesday). One tidbit is that it's looking like at least 35 of the 310 teams won't reach the 7+ wrestler threshold for classification, meaning we're headed toward only about 91 teams per class (compared to about 100 in the past when we only required 3+ wrestlers). About 7-10 teams that would have been 3A in the past system will be in 2A and 10-15 that would have been 2A will be in 1A. We'll post all of the classification data here as well once it's verified fully. Edited January 29, 2019 by maligned

Some of these are significantly different now. Below are the classification assignments and enrollments. Also, it's not as simple as just counting them out, because even in 3A are there are a number that don't have enough kids to be counted. Which is why I put the disclaimer "According to the last round of classification". It was more for observation/discussion. If this was in place in the last round of classification, some pretty tough teams from that list potentially move to 2A and some tough teams drop to 1A. Just trying to make the point that 1A and 2A are going to get tougher.

Greg Ratliff
Here is the latest update on Team State Duals for next season: The date is nearly secured as Jan 4th 2020. We have Ft. Here are those teams who have already accepted: 3A 2A 1A Carroll (FW) Jay County Adams Central Roncalli Columbia City Attica Perry Meridian North Montgomery Centerville Mater Dei Wawasee Manchester Brownsburg West Vigo Tell City Columbus East Western South Adams Warren Central Norwell Southridge Wabash Edited March 4, 2019 by Y2CJ41 It's CARROLL, not Fort Wayne Carroll

I have asked for all responses from coaches to be turned in by Monday March 11th, which is also my birthday. The shortened version is, when I have 10 confirmed for each class, we will do the vote-in paperwork. That will asked to be returned within a week of being sent out. There is no exact date, but mid-april will be our final vote and then we will notify those teams the next day.
