For the 11th straight year Jeffersonville will host an RTC for Southern Indiana; this is for kids in grades 6-12; you must have an ISWA/USAW card; and a "donation" at the door is appreciated as we help our clinicians with gas, etc...

Last year we had a high of 85 kids in the room and a low of 40.  We had Olympians, Black Belts, NCAA Champions, NAIA Champions and state champions all in the room - come on in  and take part!

Dates are

Monday - March 4 - 5:30-7:30 - also this serves as a "Battle of the Bridge" practice for those qualifiers

What you missed: 42 wrestlers at Rtc tonight from Jeff, new Albany, Floyd , providence, new wash, trinity and oldham county. Foot work drills. 40 minutes on set ups, 40 minutes live- great room!

Monday - March 11 - 5:30-7:30 - Campbellsville College Kentucky

            - 52 kids from 10 schools:  Jeff, FC, NA, Prov, NW, NA, Oldham County Ky, Trinity KY, Holy Cross KY, and Louisville Central KY - Coach Simpson, and two campbellsville wrestlers came down and ran the clinic including former Indiana wrestler Matt Milton from Center Grove - entire clinic was a great front headlock clinic!  Look forward to a good crowd next week for the Lindsey Wilson RTC next Tuesday night.

Tuesday - March 19 - 5:30 - 7:30 -Lindsey Wilson College KY will be running practice

                                              - 52 guys at practice last night from Jeff, NA, FC, Prov, NW, NA, Louisville Moore, Louisville Central - Coach Pingleton worked on his "underhook spread offense" that won him his NAIA National title last year.  Fantastic practice!!  Good luck to all those in the Battle of the Bridge!

Tuesday - March 26 - 5:30 - 7:30 - Open Mat - all LIVE (tentative as this is our spring break)

Tuesday - April 2 - 5:30-7:30 - Cumberland U - Tennessee as clinicians

Great clinic from coach Nicola and Cumberland university staff! A definite. You should have into your Rtc! Coach Nicola was intense and thorough- it's no wonder they are building that NAIA power in Cumberland! 42 kids from Jeff, new Albany and Louisville.

Tuesday - April 9 - 5:30-7:30 - Bellator Fighting Star - Brent Weedman

Great clinic! 35 kids from Jeff, New Albany, Paoli, and a few Louisville schools.

The transitions he made between these martial arts was fantastic, what a great teacher!

The ending where he gave a passionate speech on the need for grappling sports in young man's lives was fantastic.

"I truly believe that this world would be a better sport if all young man started off with a discipline of a form of wrestling in their lives." Brent Weedman

Tuesday - April 16 - 5:30-7:30 - OFF

Tuesday -April 23 - 5:30 - 7:30 - Wabash College - Danny Irwin

Saturday - April 27 - 8:30am - Mike Hagerty of Blue Springs MO

-45 kids from Jeff, Male, jennings county - came and and worked with one of the country's best clinicians - coach hagerty has coached multiple state champions and ncaa all-americans in his career coaching HS, college, and USAW World teams.  He did some fantastic warm up drills, bungee cord drills, and worked on "being your own best coach"

Tuesday - April 30 - 5:30 - 7:30 University of the Cumberlands KY  - Coaching staff will be here on Tuesday -

                        http://www.cumberlandspatriots.com/coach/0/13.php

40 kids from 4 area schools showed up and worked on positioning drills along with transitions from high crotches to gut wrenches for freestyle state finals.  Coach Lowers was intense, and gave a great speech on "attitude and effort" at the end of the practice.  2 RTC's left as we push towards regionals, hope you can make it down!  Still a good room going!

Thank you Coach Warthan!!! Great night! Even a week after state finals kids will show up and try and improve for next year!! We had 24 kids from Jeffersonville, New Albany, Floyd Central, and New Washington.  Coach Warthan did a great job preparing us for regionals, and showing us a little "funk"

Lawrence North High School and the Wildcat Wrestling club will be hosting an RTC once again this year on the NE side of Indy. We will kick off our first RTC this Thursday night, Feb. 28th at 630pm. We will have a guest clinician every Thursday. This week, we will have Shane Perkey! Shane is a fine technician with some slick moves with awesome wrestling bio. The plan is to have our clinician demo and drill for 30-45 min and let loose with some awesome live wrestling. We want to make LN the hot spot of North Indy! All ages are welcome and you must have a current USAW card to participate. Hope to see everyone there. I will post Coach Perkey's bio later this week.

The Jimtown RTC will start this Tuesday, February 26th at 5:30.  It will run every Tuesday night through the off season.

We had a great room last year and will continue to this year.  Many wrestlers from Northern Indiana, North Central Indiana, and Lower Michigan attended which made for great workout partners.

There will be multiple guest clinicians on top of a room that saw 2 State Champions, many state placers, and state qualifiers.

Not only is our RTC a great place to work out but our RTC also puts together dual teams to wrestle across the midwest at National tournaments.

You must hold a valid ISWA/USA Wrestling Card.

We will see you Tuesday.

According to the ISWA's official RTC page.  http://www.iswa.com/rtc.php

Columbus East, Terre Haute, and Evansville all have one.  I agree the southern half of the state has traditionally had less offerings than the north, but that may also be a product of poor attendance by some not willing to travel more than 20min for training or the attitude of some that everything should remain in-house.  Decent wrestlers have to show and treat it as a useful workput time for a site to feel its worth hosting.  Bloomington also has an Academy, Hoosier Elite, which provides off season opportunities.    IU used to host a similar club, but I'm not sure if that is still operational.  Plus several southern wrestling clubs who have great coaches and training partners also welcome outside wrestlers during USA season.  So opportunities are available in Southern IN if people seek them out rather than a drive or the feeling everything must remain in-house causing our areas development to be hindered.

Bellmont RTC will be on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.  Too many conflicts on Wednesday nights so we are moving it to Tuesdays.  We will run it from 7:00 to 8:30.  You can park by the tennis courts and enter the the gym through the back door, the wrestling room up the stairs to the left as you enter the auxillary gym.
