If pinning 100% of your opponents doesn’t put you in the top 8 for most outstanding then I’m not sure I follow your selection process.

In New Castles case it’s not so much about needing wrestle backs, it’s just a case of talent overload. So many classes have 6 or 7 guys ranked in the top 16 top 20 that unfortunately as fcfighter pointed out 24 will not be punching their ticket. Wrestle backs would definitely help insure the top 4 go but even with that I’d venture to guess over 20 ranked wrestlers still wouldn’t get out. I would like to see a rotation of semi states every other year.

New Castle has always been a gauntlet to get to state but this year is just unreal.

Looks like Hudkins moved to the 3 seed and Hildebrandt got the 4

Could have an all Indiana top half of the quarter finals at 174. Which will guarantee an Indiana native in the final.
-
I would imagine. I thought I heard them say that half of the finalists in the big ten were from either Pa or NJ.

Wow, only 5 out of 80 place winners from 132 on up were frosh/soph. Come to think of it only 24 total. That seems low, I could be wrong maybe that’s typical. Do we just have an extremely deep jr/sr class or is this the norm?

You have two state champions battling for a state title and you call a very questionable and very fast pin fall (IMO). Ruined what could’ve been an epic match. Fans lost that one.

Help me understand this using Cathedral as an example. As of right now, Zeke Seltzer is showing 16 points earned. His guaranteed place is 2nd. For this example, let's say he finishes 2nd. In that case, is he done scoring at 16? It lists advancement points as 4. Are those for the two wins today? Are there no points awarded for Friday night?
Lukasz Walendzak has 1 point, for a guaranteed 8th place. It shows no advancement points. So if he loses is he done at 1 point? If he wins does he get two more and end at 3 for finishing 7th?
The points don't seem to be matching the scale above. Is there something I am missing?
Just trying to understand what points have been awarded and what's left to earn. Only using Cathedral as an example because they are on top according to TW.
And how does Masconi have 19 points with 1 fall 1 major and 1 reg. dec while Slivka only has 18 points with 2 falls and a dec? I’m just trying to figure our the scoring as well.

I’ve got 11/14 with 4 in the finals and 1 for third and 2 for fifth and 4 for seventh.

lance Ellis had 151 pins in 177 matches and I'm sure some or most of those other 26 matches were forfeits

Just filled out all my brackets and surprised nobody has mentioned New Castle 145.
#2 Bryer Hall
#3 Alex Mosconi
#4 Aiden Warren
#5 Antwaun Graves
May not be the deepest weight class, but since they’re all separated, it’s probably the only one that could legitimately place 1-4 at state. Granted it’s not likely that Matt Lee loses in the quarters, it’s possible.
Could have a 1 vs 2,3,4 or 5 on Friday night. Let’s hope NC doesn’t draw EV at that weight.

All the weights are crazy difficult but 145 is insane! #2,3,4,5 all in the same SS. Somebody is going to have a rough Friday night next weekend

Hopefully it starts at 25 and can come down to Parris again.

Johnson county has had 5 state champions in the past 10 years.

the Fact that Sliga isn’t in the top 20 kinda throws a little shade on the whole ultimate bracket. We are talking High School career in the 2000’s right?
