PreparetoWin
You will never please everyone...even doing something like giving out a cool award to give a kid some added recognition. Why would that not be the name of the award??
fearless fly
king kong would have been a good name for the award and silverback for coach of the year
Y2CJ41
We were thinking of the Mr. Fearless Fly award and you get a bronze fly swatter, but to put it nicely that idea was swatted down.
MD92
I am sorry it doesn't meet your award naming criteria and if you or your son is a candidate would gladly take them out of consideration. My son is only 9, so I'll worry about it more in a few years. Just thought the name was kind of cheesy is all. "IndianaMat.com Wrestler of the Year" sounds a little more respectable than Mr. Gorilla. But whatever. It's your award, name it whatever you want.

rpetty24
So instead of saying wow Indianamat giving something else to wrestlers there is criticism. Very confusing. Great award and great idea littlevito
charger.dad
Is the cheesy named (lol) "Mr. Gorilla" award based on the wrestlers performance for this upcoming season only or does it take into consideration previous years accomplishments? I'm assuming it must since you listed previous accolades of each kid.

I'm assuming it must since you listed previous accolades of each kid. We have left the criteria to be up to the person who is voting. The only specific requirement is that they must be a senior. After that it is purely up to the voter on how he decides the best person for the award.
littlevito
I think the award, and the name are both great. Every other sport, newspaper, website, etc. gives awards and it is always just "_____ of the year". The 800 lb. Gorilla has always been the slogan for IndianaMat and I think kids will enjoy the award named "Mr. Gorilla". I know I've already ran into some underclassmen wrestlers, and they have spoken about wanting to become Mr. Gorilla in a couple years.
