Y2CJ41
The IHSAA gives out a sheet with the formula. Then some far distant god-like creature produces brackets for them and posts them on a really cool website. Of course it is never fast enough for the fans of wrestling and numerous people complain around noon on Saturday where the brackets are.

unknown wrestler
What regionals get what regionals?
MattM
What regionals get what regionals? IHSAA does not release the randomized formula for each weight-class until after the Regionals are over. Thus ensuring coaches/wrestlers are not trying to work the system based on possible match-ups.
unknown wrestler
So winning it all is still the best option? Lol
MattM
So winning it all is still the best option? Lol In most cases yes. However, in certain unique semi-state draw match ups (multiple scenarios especially when some weights are weak in one regional and deep in another) it may not always result in your best draw to advance to state. But, either way their very rarely will ever be an easy way through two rounds of semi-state.
countin_the_lights
What if your not ranked in your semi-state, are they still aloud to wrestle if they qualify? Or what if someone on the board, "12 are going to semi-state", are they in the brackets?

Or what if someone on the board, "12 are going to semi-state", are they in the brackets? No. if you arent ranked in your semi state you are forebidden to wrestle even if you won regionals. Also anyone with more than 8 losses arent allowed to compete.

WrestleMan
What if your not ranked in your semi-state, are they still aloud to wrestle if they qualify? Or what if someone on the board, "12 are going to semi-state", are they in the brackets? Obviously, if you are not ranked in your semi-state there is no point in showing up, especially if you are a senior. I can't believe people even ask these questions. The guy with the better record always wins. Don't people know that?
Wrestlingfan182
Its all about peaking at the right time some kids are great all year then come semi state and they can't get over that hump. Its time to step up. Just a recap Lecounts only loss came at Semi state "The Ticket Round"Can't remember his record lastyear but I'm sure he didn't lose til state. That loss at semi state really been a state place match with Price, probably 75percent Cody wins that match. There's always some shockers at semi state .Price was a beast though.
