AJ
I read on the results page that Bellmont won their dual with East Noble on the 8th criteria. Did I read that right? What is the 8th criteria?
BlueBolt
The would be the criteria just after 7 and before 9 ;D
Jenks
Most first match points scored.
GUNNY77
I thought the 8th was a coin flip
xgamehoss
Criteria is plural. It should read, "Bellmont wins on the eighth criterion." ;D
Y2CJ41
The team having the greater number (total match points) of first-point(s) scored shall be declared the winner.
justadadnow
New Castle defeated Richmond the same way. 42-42, 7 falls each, had more first pts scored.
MattM
I think 8th criteria (h) is somewhat common since many time if the match ends in a tie the head to head results are usually split evenly. So that criteria is passed up. Plus, you have to remember the first criteria is higjest team score and a few other early onunspoken unsportsmanlike conduct penalties don't occur much in meets. Fabio Jr.
The fabled 15th criteria is a One on One Losers leaves town strap match between the head coaches....
1oldwrestler
Two observations: East Noble is pretty darn good The nfhs just should have added a 15th wt class and we wouldnt have to resort to criteria or criterion at all.
Y2CJ41
There would still be a need for tie breaking criteria in case of there being a double forfeit.
1oldwrestler
I knew as soon as I posted there was still a need for criteria/criterion. Think it would be rarely invoked (hows that?) if there were 15 wt classes.
Y2CJ41
From what a lot of people have said, the NFHS is more likely to take away a weight class than to add one.
1oldwrestler
From what a lot of people have said, the NFHS is more likely to take away a weight class than to add one. That would be bad. Lemme guess, they want to get rid of 106.
aoberlin
That would be bad. Lemme guess, they want to get rid of 106. LOL. Worthless light weights anyways and the class is only good for freshman.

Or an observation could have been that Bellmont threw in 3 reserves to give them experience, and that is where 18 of East Noble's points came from.
