Bash513
103 -- Brooks 112 -- Beck/Ayersman 119 -- Hawkins/Bradley 130 -- T-shirts 140 -- Porras/Brady 145 -- Roach/Surma 152 -- Stahl 160 -- McMurray 189 -- Atwood 215 -- Cleveland/Lentz 285 -- Travis/Thomas It seems entirely possible for M'ville SS to come away with at least six champions...probably looking more at 8-9 depending on how some tough matches turn out. Only at 125, 135, and 171 where there is not a "favorite" from the area to win or be in the finals. Over/Under at 7.5 champions. Which way would you bet? I'm taking the over. Roach is sooooo smooth though. I think I would have to favor him in that matchup. Surma can do some DAMAGE from the top position though.

decbell1
If the over/under is 7.5, I am definitely taking the under. No way they get over 7, but I think seven is definitely possible.
MR.Takedown
THe 6 guys you have winning i agree with, i also think hawkins will get it done bring it to 7. Between Atwood and stahl, one of them will win, so i can see 8 happening
decbell1
Crap, I forgot about Atwood coming out of Merrillville. That would make the maximum 8, so I think I would still play the odds and go under 7.5.
allchamp7
im going with over, 8 or 9 champs. stahl is going to pull through also i feel like. and 112/119 im favoring merrilville ss and brooks has a shot at phillips although i see phillips winning. Y2CJ41
I predict 20 state champs, yes Merrillville is THAT good.
CharlieMcGinley
i think its gonna be a sweep by the New castle and Merriville semi's with all the state champs 103-Phillips-NC 112-Beck-M 119-Kiefer-NC 125-Wright-NC 130-Tsirtsis-M 135-Berryman-NC 140-Porras-M 145-Roach-M 152-Bennet-NC 160-Willis-NC 171-Duckworth-NC 189-Atwood-M 215-Cleveland-M 285-Travis-M i think its a possible sweep by these two semi states NC-7 M-7 that would be a good match if there were elite semi state teams and they wrestled
newf
I also think Mr. Roach is very tough, but if you remember last year everybody from the M'ville area was saying he was heads above the rest of the wrestler @ 135lbs.

Right now I've got Merrillville with 7, New Castle with 5, and Evansville with 2 and the potential for more if the Welch's show up to wrestle at Conseco. RankingsGuy
Right now I also think Fort Wayne's only realistic chance for a State Champ is at 135 with Norton, Hiestand, or Hill.
hammer
Right now I also think Fort Wayne's only realistic chance for a State Champ is at 135 with Norton, Hiestand, or Hill. I know that FW is down, compared to Merrillville and New Castle, but there are kids in a few classes that have realistic chances of winning. They have a realistic chance at 119(Lovejoy). I know that they wrestle a crappy schedule, but he's a 2X Placer. Him winning 119 is not unrealistic.

Regionrat1
oDDS Are its gonna be "8" / Now if I was Roach i would play da takedown game whit da Surminator. Don't want to have anything to do wit him on da ground. Also I would want to catch him early cause my guess he is chewin a legg of to make 147. By medal time I bet he is pushin 160. DuneFan
newf: I hate to make excuses about Roach at state last year, but he was wrestling with a bout of strep throat. He might of had a good match with March, but I doubt he would have lost to Richey or Mascaro. I don't think he will have a tough time with Surma this year. There are 9 undefeated wrestlers at 145 this year right now. Maybe one of them will surprise me, but I doubt it.
