Prairie Heights has beaten Fairfield twice in the past two weeks.

True.  They have Fairfield's number.  But Fairfield beat Lake Central and Riley, both of whom PH lost to, and scored a fair amount better on average than PH against a huge number of common opponents.

How come Eastern isn't in the Peru regional? They were one match from state iirc last year and have almost everyone back.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find any information about them anywhere.  They were one match from state but came from one of the two significantly weaker sectionals of the regional--and beat the team from the other weaker sectional.  Still, if they have everybody back, they belong ahead of Logansport based on last year's results.

New Pal beat New Castle 45-36

It's true.  But New Castle beat Bellmont and Bellmont dismantled New Pal on the same day.  If you look at the season's body of work (or even just the day), New Castle has done more despite the loss to New Pal.  New Pal got 'em fair and square, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're better.

yea new castle beat belmont cuz bellmont didnt have a 103 pounder so they had to forfeit. and thats the reason why new castle won

And if this is called TEAM regionals they would be wrestling FF as a TEAM so who cares how they did against common opponents!!

South Adams has most of their lineup back from last year sure they have had easy early on but the lineup they have has consistantly over the past couple seasons proven consistant with only the loss of jim west at hwt they are ready the win carroll is a good team but they r in a weaker sectional and do not face have as tough a fight to make it out and they were 4th whereas south adams was second

I coached in that sectional in the past.  Take away Bellmont and it is a very very weak sectional.  Whereas the Carroll sectional has four of the top eight teams in the semi state.  Whitko is very tough, Garrett will always be well coached and Dwenger is consistant every year.  By the way Carroll has everybody from last year back too, except a state champion.  I am not saying Carroll is the third best team in the semi state in fact Whitko should be there instead they were in the Regional finals last year.  Everybody thinks their team is better than what they really are!

Again, I'm ranking teams based on who seems to be the best overall team from the overall body of work.  If Riley beats PH and PH beats Fairfield and Fairfield beats Riley, I have to look at things other than head to head to evaluate the teams within the context of all teams out there.  In the context of needing to be successful against many teams (not just each other), Fairfield's performance has been slightly stronger.

South Adams is better than Carroll they are extremly close to Bellmont might be a shakeup at the Jay County Sectional

Carroll, South Adams, Whitko, Dwenger, Homestead, Garrett, Leo, Adams Central--they're all in the mix for beating each other on the right day, just like last year.  Carroll has everyone back but one guy and hammered a very good Leo team 55-9.  Considering Leo beat a quality AC  team rather handily, 42-24, the Carroll over Leo result is to me the single best performance by any of these teams so far.  Still, South Adams' body of work has been very strong and they have a chance to do something special this year.  Whitko has last year to go on to some degree, but they lost to Dwenger (now seemingly full strength after football state finals, disregard most results before this past weekend) and barely beat a couple of improving, but not top teams (Columbia City and Wawasee) that I just don't think Carroll and South Adams would have struggled with.  I slotted Whitko above Dwenger because they were slightly stronger in the Whitko/Dwenger/Huntington North merry-go-round from this past weekend.  Dwenger may still prove to be stronger.  Homestead is above Garrett only because of their one common opponent (South Adams) performance.

team wise the jay sectional is not as tough you are right but im saying is if south gets past bellmont they are gonna be tough to beat really tough you are right they all are extremly close it just about who shows up on the given day

From wrestling both teams the past two weeks, it will be tough to get past Bellmont at sectional.  From 140 on up they should have all sectional champs or runner-ups.  That is a lot of points that South Adams will have to make up.

In a dual I think it is a lot closer, but Bellmont is still a 15-20 point favorite.

Bellmont basically has their exact team back from last year.
