BClark got a reaction from SIACfan in Hoosiers in College 2019-2020 Results
Looks like both 2009 and 2010.
Andrew Howe and Angel Escobedo won Big 10s both years.

Would be near the top of my list. Watching that dude, I still can't believe he never won a title.

BClark got a reaction from 1prouddad in NCAA Championships - Day 2 (Friday)
Overall thoughts:
1) Embarrassing that Nolf won that match. Absolutely outwrestled and Hilday was robbed. Nolf is out of the Hodge and it’s all Nickal at this point.
2) It didn’t make sense at the time and makes less sense today but they should’ve never pulled Parris’s redshirt. You could clearly see he needed a year to grow into that weight class.
3) Surprised by Lewis but maybe we shouldn’t be. Made a junior world team. Want to be elite? Make age-level world teams. Look at the guys who’ve done in on the world level. Lee, Fix, Yianni, Zahid, Hall, Steveson, etc.
4) Steveson should’ve never lost that match. I’m actually shocked he didn’t get it done. Got sloppy on one exchange so it’s his own fault. But I hate when guys like Cassar get rewarded with absolutely no offense.
5) I have a buddy who wrestled at Lowell and grew up around the Deans. So I’ve always rooted for them from afar. Good for Max Dean. As for Cornell, I think if I had a son who was being recruited right now. It would be Penn St #1 (and I dislike penn state) and Cornell #2. Those two programs always seem to get the most out of their guys.
6) Indiana as a state has a long way to go.
7) really excited for Fix-Suriano. Anyone else remember that insane marathon match they wrestled at who’s #1?
😎 Yianni might be my favorite wrestler in the entire NCAA. Just fun to watch. I think Erieyman (spelling) was the only guy in that weight class who can beat him.
9) A topic for another day but how many of these guys will take Olympic redshirts next year? A lot of these guys have had world level success. See #3 above.
10) Finals picks:
Lee, Fix, Yianni, Ashnault, Nolf, Joseph, Zahid, Dean, Nickal, Cassar

1) 100% agree on the step out
2) First injury time used when opponent has not been called for an illegal move = opponent gets choice. Second time wrestler must withdraw. Stops (hopefully)wrestler from using injury time to recover and if a wrestler is that injured he must stop the match twice, probably shouldn’t be in there.
3) I’m good with a 4 point near fall and a 3 point takedown. Keep rewarding offensive wrestling

BClark reacted to Sig40 in Last Year vs This Years Champs
Jesse definitely wanted to cut him. You clearly see Jesse look at coaches twice and then hear them say stay on top, he does not get a point. I later asked the coach and they confirmed that they did not want him to give up a point. I talked to Jesse as well and he wanted to keep working towards bonus points.
Although Jesse has never wrestled Ty Mills, he did beat Patrick Noonan(Super32) who gave Ty his last high school loss(FloNationals).

Hard to know for sure but I believe it could've been a bigger spread than a 6 point victory? It looked like he wanted to cut Rioux and keep going after it but coaches content to pitch the shut out?

I think 2019 would win more matches, but would have to overcome bonus points from BLee and Mason Parris. I think those guys score at least 11.

Not as impressive as majoring a defending state champ.

I love Lee, but outside of Micic (who I love as well) that's not exactly a murder's row.

Pokorney would still be ranked. I think you will see Mendez, Cernus, and maybe Donahue in the next rankings with maybe 1-2 of these current guys falling out as well.
Returning guys who will be in next years rankings:
Cernus, Seltzer, Littell, Mendez, Lee, Donahue, Allred. Who else?
Side note: Cernus and Mendez were two of my favorite guys to watch. WOW they were fun! Mendez is the best freshman since Angel.

If you spin it the other way around. All other 1A and 2A teams need to get on Fort Wayne’s level. They might have more IHSWCA dual championships than all other semi states combined. They just don’t have the top schools to compete with these 3A monsters.

Agreed about the Avon “Iowa” style singlets. My favorite singlets are anyone who comes out in the all-white singlets. We always saved our white singlets for the championships. They look so clean!

We maybe didn't realize it at the time but 2005 had a pretty good one too.
